F1 is holding a live event today at 3:00 p.m. Eastern, during which all the teams on the 2025 grid will reveal their liveries. (Something, something 75th anniversary)
I'm pushing my lunch back to 3 so I don't miss it.
I started casually watching F1 last year, and now I'm hooked. I've been itching for the season to start.
Too late to petition for some retro liveries? If so, John Player Special, please. It’s simple and distinctive.
I think I might still have the cap that my dad got me when we visited the Glen. Yes, now know that it’s a cigarette company, but back then, I had no idea. (Update: I never took up smoking.)

And another fave if we can have some retro liveries: Jackie Stewart’s Matra MS80. Always loved that shade of blue.

In reply to David S. Wallens :
Yeah, why is it that the alcohol and cigarette companies made the coolest liveries?

Because they have the most money? :)
I’m also excited to see Lewis Hamilton’s Ferrari.
In reply to David S. Wallens :
Valid. It's kind of a bummer that the companies with the most money today are companies that deal in Crypto, sports betting or both, but I get that's the day and age we live in.

Given how many advertised by sponsoring racing, mathematically speaking they HAD to have the best.
A personal favorite of mine:

While I'm curious I'm always in yeah whatever mode about what pretty colors they paint the car.
I suspect being a Ferrari F1 fan for the last 49 years may have an effect on me. LOL
In reply to Tom1200 :
I think Ferrari would be one of the few teams I'd be upset with if it didn't go with the same color they've been using since it started racing.
Sometimes you forget how short F1 drivers are.

Curious to see where they put their Tire Rack windshield banners

And actual serious question: Are there any mandated logos for F1? Looking at a few pictures i don't really see any sanctioning body or series sponsor level bits of flair on each car. Is that not a thing in F1?
They should have to get a plastic bag full of stickers at registration and figure out what to do with them like the rest of us.
In reply to JG Pasterjak :
Well now I want to design a GRM-inspired F1 livery.

Fun fact: back in my days at Electronic Arts I had a full-access NASCAR hard card for one season. Went to a couple of races, learned a lot.
One of the coolest things, though, was every car had an EASports sticker on it as part of our licensing deal for the NASCAR computer games we made. It was part of the required package so it was typically buried in a mass of stickers near the front of the door. Might still be a thing.

Pretty sure they can run them on the front wing.
I don't care so much about the pretty colors and the massive hype, but I'll be watching when they start testing......when the rubber meets the road!
With so many rookie and near rookie drivers on track this year it looks to be a fun season.
I expect McLaren to go hard right out of the box and not have a repeat of last season's miserable start. I think Ferrari and Mercedes will be pretty good from the getgo too, and I think Williams will have a surprise in store for everyone.
Max will be right inn there too, not so sure about Lawson.
I have no idea how HAAS will do, given two rookie drivers - but they had a decent season last year.
Sauber will be dead last again, and Yuki has a lot to prove at Vcarb, I expect him to be pretty aggressive after not getting called up to the varsity team.
Alpine is also a question mark, they finished last season really strong, but they also have a rookie teammate, and another ready to step in after 5 races....could make for a lot of confusion on one side of the garage.
Rumor has it that both Ricciardo and Perez are already signed up with Cadillac?

Haas doesn't really have any rookies. Bearman has already done a few races (and scored points for 2 separate teams) and Ocon has been in f1 for like 6 seasons.
I think Haas are going to finish 7th in the constructors. Which would actually be pretty decent for them.

Penske is currently running a JPS call back in Formula E:

In reply to Andy Hollis :
They eliminated the contingency sticker requirements outside of a couple. I think it's just down to Goodyear and Sunoco. It really cleans up the look of the cars honestly.
I was part of the safety crew at turn one at TMS and Vegas for years till they went with the traveling teams. It use to be the the whole area in front of the car was a bill board and looked really busy.
So far there's black with a green top (Stake Sauber) and black with a blue top (Williams). Liveries are lame so far, but the event is pretty fun.
The sheer dragging of the teams and drivers is hilarious!
VCARB up now. White/Blue and looks pretty cool actually. It totally gives classic Williams vibes though.
In reply to Javelin :
Oh yeah, a lot more fun than I thought it was going to be, and the VCARB does stand out (in a good way).
