Who has a GMail addy starting with "josephdeon"? Why is he sending a rather scammy sounding email?

Got an email via the GRM forum email system earlier today about the Bridgestone Super Raps, asking if I still had them and to please send pictures and price to a different email address.

No intro as to who they are or why they're asking for this stuff sent to a different email address and all the info is in the ad anyway. Email sounds like the typical scam email, next step will be the "we'll send you a dodgy check"...

I think I got one of those.  I wasn't really thinking about it but I did respond with pictures and a price.  Never heard anything else.

I had one also, it asked me to send an email with prices to another email which I just dont ever do so I ignored it.

just dug back and couldn't find it but it was in the last week or two

I had one too; a "response" to a "parts for sale" thread.  It seemed odd, but I responded anyway since I was not thinking about it very hard.  I got a very odd calender invite the next day, though that may or may not be unrelated.  I will PM details also.

I got the same this morning, regarding a fairly ancient parts for sale post. I didn't respond. The real bummer is that I still have the part in question...

Alright, that seems like a sufficient burden of canoeing... along with one other piece of evidence I tracked down.  I've deactivated the accounts associated with this, so if anyone gets an email after now, please let me know.  (and I'd appreciate hearing any other instances of the email).

I've also sent in an email about this to Tom and the other Mods, so we're all on the same page.

I got one from them too for an old add.

I got an odd email about a part I posted as well. Did not respond as it was clearly skecty.

Weird. I got a similar request and replied. Got all the way to checking on shipping price with the guy who said he wanted my headers for his dads nova. He ended up saying that his dad decided to go with shorty headers instead of long tube and “sorry for the trouble”. But when I went back to look for those emails they were gone except the original one asking for pics and price.... so weird....

found the Facebook pm from this. The name was “kris moats”.

I just got another one today about the same for sale add i got it for previously. This one used the name Bernard Shearin but asked for information to be sent to the same sandersb1965 email. This time the story was a rambling one about his daughters car and hearing loss..... 

at a loss for what his game is....

Yes, she has been very patient while she has been sick but NOW he is going to buy your item listed a year ago.

i got the same thing.

I got one about two weeks ago about parts I have for sale and I replied to it.

I feel like a fool for thinking he was really interested. I wonder... should I get tested for STDs now?

I think they are just trying to collect active email addresses to sell. 
 

if they ask you to email a different address, likely a scam.   If it is worded so that your item description looks to be dropped into a boiler plate email, likely a scam.
