Agreed... Yeah, I could camp-out in front of a store for se real hours, in the hopes of getting one of the 5 widgets available at that store for a great price...

Or, I could just wait a few days, and get even better deals on better stuff, without having to deal with all the madness.

Wasn't into the black Thursday - Friday - Saturday thing this year (why don't they just start it the day after Halloween and call it Black November.. ) But I did walk into the Home improvement place with the Orange logo this evening and got a 16 gallon shop vac for $40 bucks. So I guess it's cool for buying cheap tools

I witnessed a state trooper tearing ass out of the same home improvement place, with the same Shopvac in his front passenger seat.

It was good for a chuckle.

I just saw the reports - someone was actually killed at a Walmart.

We've frigging crossed the line folks. Something is seriously wrong with us.

It's sad when the media has enough Black Friday incidents to make a dedicated news story out of it... and there are way too many.

We went out people watching for black Thursday/Friday and bought a few things if the lines weren't to long. It was really pretty tame this year aside from the freakishly long lines in Target, Wal Mart and Old Navy. I am apathetic to most of this mess, but SWMBO wanted a few things and who am I to not oblige.

I wound up working Thanksgiving and Missing Dinner thanks to a shiney person. Went in for a "climb and focus" call. They wanted to get some stuff done ahead of time for the concert tonight (Friday) and what should have been a quick in and out of about 2 hours.. turned into almost 6.

Worst part was.. the Lighting designer admitted to us that if he had a family, he would not have been there, he would have been with his family instead. What about the rest of us with Families?!?

We went out Friday at about 11AM. Stores weren't any busier than normal, I don't think.

I picked up a copy of Adobe Photoshop/Premier elements for 70 bucks, plus a pair of 16GB class 10 SDHC cards for 9.99 each.

Went to Target and didn't get anything more than groceries.

I went to the mall but not for black friday. I waited for the crowds to go away and went around 6pm. I got no special pricing, but I did get pants complete with a fully intact crotch area, no holes or anything. What a deal I also took advantage of the subscription deal.

A few years ago a security guard was trampled to death unlocking the door at the Walmart by my parents house in Valley Stream.

Got a couple things earlier in the week that were already at bf prices. Seems that palmetto state armory and primary arms realized that you can sell a metric ass ton of stuff at low prices when it's not only available at 6am Thursday morning.

I didn't think that prices were really that earth shattering this year and I'm on vacation in Florida with the family anyways.

I work a seafood counter. I get to watch the madness in meat as I sell some oysters for stuffing and shrimp. Part of my reward for working till 3 on thursday was getting a 3 day weekend, and first pick of x-mas eve shift. My wife and I went out later and the only "Black Friday" sale we hit was 50% off Old Navy.

that's because walmart attracts the lowest of the low of society. everything bad on the news for black friday happens at walmart. every year. someone shot? outside walmart. fight over a $200 TV? walmart. trampled? walmart.

not saying everyone who shops there is vile and bottom feeders, but i am saying that all the vile bottom feeders happen to shop there.

Around here it is just about our only place to shop anymore hell if we have one more grocery store go down it will be the only place we can even get groceries within an hours drive.

I went out Friday to pick up a few things for the wife after work and it was way quieter. Almost normal levels of crowds.

We used to go out on Black Friday with no agenda other than to crowd surf and make fun of the rabid idiots. It was usually entertaining, but after a few years it palled. Now we stay in, though we did venture out to run a few errands today.

A friend of mine who is a pilot went flying on Friday and took some pictures of the mall. It looked like the parking lot was 100% full and multiple cars were cruising each aisle, hoping to score. Even the ring road had cars all over it. VERY glad I skipped that.
