Skip to the end for the short version. I've been using google photos since forever. My google storage is nearing full. I decided a few years ago to try google takeout. It's a service they provide for making zip files of all your photos so you can download. Takes forever.
I did the whole process and I got corrupted files. Fast forward to last month I tried it again. I'm still getting strange files. About one in 30 photos is OK, but the rest unzip as this:
TLDR: What the heck am I doing wrong?
