So I want to sign up for intramural soccer at my school. There is a guy at the school who's entire job is just to run the intramural program. And everytime I have been by there the office is closed. Also the guy shortened the season from a season and a playoff to just a playoff. I mean it isn't like he has a hard job I mean really.

He probably shortened the season because it is really hard to get college students to show up consistently for something that needs an entire team.
That's kinda what they did in high school for me, there were a few that wouldn't show up all the time.
I have never seen any problems except the frats.

Couple things: Do you know the entire back story? Was he instructed to cut the program? Is it being cut due to an increase in insurance costs--or the inability to obtain insurance?? Did the school cut his hours? Have his hours of availability changed? Did you ask anyone in the athletic dept about the guy or possible changes? Leave a message anyplace to find out if any of the above is/has occured?

No, all of that stuff takes the back seat to complaining on the internet. 
But really OP, I would be it's down to not enough interest.
