The part of hobbies I miss most right now is community. I'm "just playing" in a few different areas, but not spending enough time to get involved with the associated community. That's the benefit of going off the deep end sometimes. It can lead to lasting memories and relationships.
The last hobby I really got into was playing Dance Dance Revolution, which I had no intention of investing into, I just wanted an excuse to get out of the house. The local nerds kept pushing me to improve and I ended up visiting the arcade multiple times a week for a whole year. Got really fit as well. I used to host a yearly holiday party for building gingerbread houses, and that year I probably had 3x as many guests as usual, just because of playing DDR.

Very relatable, which is why I have 25 varieties of hot peppers in my garden...
Came to a stopping point on my rallycross car, it needs to go in the garage and up on stands to get some fabrication done. Can't do that, the garage is full of flooring to redo the entire house. Can't get the flooring done, too busy building a dart frog cage because my wife encouraged me to get back into it. Can't get that done because I'm working 60 hour weeks.
My life is simply full of projects I can't get done.
I see I am not alone...

Oh man, my buddies and I in college were golf disc freaks! We literally used to go 2-3 times per week. I need to get my fat ass back out there again.
Just say no! Over the years I have had several people try to get me interested in RC cars. I won't even test drive someone else's rig. IT WOULD MEAN MY CERTAIN DOOM! I have a gas (?) RC rig at home that my wife found in a pile of free stuff by the road. Motor was locked up, I freed up the motor and have never ran it. If I did MY FATE WOULD BE SEALED! Dang it. Now I want to drive it. *sigh*

I've been fishing for my whole life.
I decided I needed a surf rod, set up for a conventional reel (revolving spool, not a spinning reel).
These weren't available commercially, so I built my own. Someone admired it, asked me to build him a rod, and I built and sold hundreds of them over the next few years.
I still have all of the rod building tools and some unfinished rods, plus a whole bunch of fishing tackle. No progress for about the last three years.
I discovered a website for modifying fishing reels. I have multiple reels sitting in pieces with a bunch of custom parts. No progress for about three years (see a trend?).
Since I had decided I would get back into fishing, and instead of buying yet another boat (won't even get into that), I decided to rig out my canoe.
I bought:
Garmin mapping GPS. Depthfinder, with magnetic mount for the transducer. Sea Sucker suction cup mounts for the electronics.
Deep cycle battery. 45 pound thrust, salt water Motor Guide trolling motor. Trolling motor mount. Canoe seats. Bracket mounted umbrellas for the seats. Rod holders.
Wiring. Fuses. Hand pump. Boat fenders for added floatation in case it gets capsized. Additional hardware for the canoe.
Johnboat trailer (used). 2.5 HP Mercury four stroke (used). The trailer and the outboard both needed some work, neither of them are finished.
The canoe would need a sturdier motor mount for the gas engine, so I paid $100 for a 4x6 board of Ash wood. It's also going to need an outrigger if I run the gas engine.
I took the canoe out for a trial with the trolling motor on a local lake.
That was in 2017 (about three years ago), and about two weeks later (and the day before my first trip to Mosquito Lagoon) all free time and extra cash stopped for months when I became responsible for my dad's care, expenses, and housing.
He had cut me out of his life a few years before, so I hadn't been able to prepare for this.
As things stabilized, I started spending more time on GRM.
February 2018, I bought my first miata. February 2019, replaced it with the current one. I'm somewhere between 35 and 40 autocross events, and the fishing tackle and canoe, trailer, outboard, dismantled reels, unfinished rods, are all sitting.
So, it's all the fault of GRM!
Don't even start me on my surfboards.

I relate to the fishing gear...I wanted to put together a setup for big catfish, so that meant a heavy rod with a big conventional reel. Well in my research I stumbled about the vast aftermarket for abu round reels, so now I'm trying to fight the urge to put $100 worth of part in a $20 doller reel.

I own a lot of rapidly expanding high-pressure gas, exothermic combustion, projectile launching devices. Not to mention all of the accessories, paraphernalia, and projectiles to accompany them.
A few that have never even been shot, several that have never been shot by me, so many I have to choose which ones reside in the safe. I haven't shot any of them in almost a year. 
If I were to ever make the news, I'm sure phrases like "massive arsenal," and "munitions depot," would be used. It's a pretty low bar though, the average news' definition of "massive amounts" is a couple hours at the range for most of my cronies.
I've recently (past 3-4 years) been buying VG+ & NM copies of some of my favorite comics, mostly stuff I read before it accrued any value. Mostly Bronze & Modern age stuff, with a handful of Silver age. All stuff that I read and abused as a youth, short run series, or firsts, i.e. first editions, first appearances of a specific character. Mostly Marvel, some Dark Horse, very few Image and DC, but none are graded, probably won't ever be, so it's not I'm investing, I guess I'm just being nostalgic.
I got a turntable in ~13 years ago, and went down the vinyl rabbit hole. I spent way too much money early on before I knew any better. I've got a few "valuable" albums, but since I'm in it for listening, not collecting, I quit searching for the collectable stuff, and started buying; Greatest Hits, Best Of, Top Hits, etc. albums of artists I enjoy listening too. I'd much rather have an affordable album with a lot of songs I like on it, than an expensive collectable album I'm nervous of scratching, that only has 2 or 3 songs on it I like on it.
Totally forgot fly fishing lures, I was fly fishing and tying flies in college. I've got a Rubbermaid somewhere, with all of my tools, I went through a few, progressively "better" vises, I think I had 3 in one year, never actually getting rid of the previous one, I might need it right? I have (had) a pretty decent collection of feathers and skins, I assume I still do. I tied a few that were so challenging for me, and I was so proud of them, that I was never willing to actually try to fish with them.
As I sit here in my house filled to the brim of a lifetime of hobbies, I've managed to avoid collecting any more, despite temptations. An RC shop opening within waking distance of my house has certainly been a temptation. I spend enough time and money on cycling, guitars and cars to be able to spread myself any thinner. That and a lack of space. I don't have room in my house for any more hobbies.
I was cleaning and organizing my shop a few weeks ago and was shocked (and thrilled) to find out that I have over 100 tweeters, 50 woofers and a dozen T amps in boxes. Apparently I've accumulated a half a dozen decent size boxes of assorted cables and connectors too.
I've dabbled in a few different hobbies, i don't usually jump off the deep end except for a couple. Haven't had time but for one as of recent but coming off of nights should help that quite a bit.
I enjoy the snot out of RC cars but I need to get off of my lazy butt and finish moving in. Once I'm moved in and find the space to be able to work on my RC stuff I'll be able to take it back out again with a little more ease.
Those of you wanting to just get rid of your RC cars, I'm interested in your off road stuff. Crashing and jumping about is all the fun for me, I need to build or buy a ramp and see how far I can jump off of my sloped driveway. I need a charger pretty bad, the one I have is the wrong outlet type for this side of the pond.
I got into fishing when I was in Texas for a bit, I really enjoyed it and would like to get back into it out here. I'm not about to get on a boat and go looking for fish with electronics but the excuse to day drink all day and have someone pick you up at dusk is a magical one. It's even better when the bobber goes down and you throw your drink down in a semi-non-spilling manner, in the excitement that something actually took a bite out of the poor minnow you speared onto your hook earlier on! I imagine day drinking at a quiet lakeside would be even better accompanied by a sack of full batteries and an RC car.
Building a computer for the first time was pretty neat and upgrading it was even more better. The next time I need to upgrade, I'll probably just buy one that has all the bells and whistles I want on it already.
Firearms will probably be a small dabble in the long term, I'll end up collecting the ones I want to enjoy on the range and probably leave it at that.
Go kart racing is my latest craze, unfortunately it was cut short by night shift. Awesome racing on the cheap, can't wait to get back out to it. That one will be competition for having fun with real cars. I imagine I'll do both and just be broke lol
I've been a R/C car nut for decades. I have five hobby grade cars and a many toy grade cars. I have several toy grade flying things as well. I want more, so much more. The rise of cheap Chinese R/C stuff is the same as a Harbor Freight opening next door. I use my kids as an excuse to buy more cars so we can all race together.
Right now there is a box of R/C car parts sitting at my feet. The good part is I'm nowhere near some of the real R/C addicts I've seen in the hobby. People with entire ROOMS of cars complete with storage solutions to fit them all in.
I do the same kind of. I jump in the deep end and at some point taper off or get to the point where I am happy with the equipment I have.
Hobbies I have had since college:
Cars: This one has really been on a pause for a bit since buying a house and finding a few other hobbies but I almost have all the pressing projects on the house are done so hoping to spend some time on my Civic again.
Watches: I jumped into this one big. Got to where I was happy with my collection mostly. Have a couple and parts to do a few builds I still want but in no major hurry. So just adding every now and then.
Disc golf: Jumped into this big for a year or two. Mostly cause I would go with coworkers at lunch at my old job. I still enjoy it but I don't know a ton of people who still play or want to play and I don't really enjoy solo rounds as much anymore. So it is really mostly dead.
Headphones: I got into this from working on a set of audiophile quality headphones at my old job. Got to where I was mostly happy with my setup just want to add a liquid carbon amp, a Grado style build with aftermarket drivers and a better record player. This one got paused as the room it had been in was a wreck and hated being in there and now that I have fixed up the room and got it to where the temperature is nice in there. I am planning on finishing some of this off soonish.
Bikes: This is the big one that is going for me right now. Most of my limited hobby time and money is focused on this but I foresee myself getting to where I am happy with my setup for this.
So 9 years since college 4 new hobbies and only one has died I don't think that is too bad.
