Pitbull have gotten such a bad rep. You take ANY dog and abuse it like so many Pitbulls are and of course it will attack you. And most of the owners are part of the problem.

I knew a bunch of guys in the Army who all bought puppies from the same breeder because he had some awesome pitbull stud. They would talk about his lineage and breeding in public, but in private they would talk about how many fights he won. And then say they where training their dogs to fight, not that they would of course, but just in case. berkeleying disgusting.

teaching a dog to fight is worse than abuse..

My uncle had the sweatest rotty.. but she was still very protective. The one time somebody broke into his house, she herded the burgler to the couch and kept him there.. never touched him, just growled if he tried to move

My pit/lab mix is just like that with cats/kittens. Some of the neighborhood cats have gotten to know her and put up with her, but others are still freaked the hell out by her. We took her out to a friend's house that's in the country a bit to let her run around, and she found four tiny kittens to play with. They were having a blast, until momma saw her! That cat was pissed, and now my dog has a giant scratch on her face.

Don't have any dogs but I have friends and relatives with all the supposedly "dangerous" breeds. I have never had any problems with them with one exception. One guys full grown Rotweiler still thinks she is a "lap dog". More nuisance than anything else.

Only dog I have ever been afraid of was my brothers Dachshund. When you went to the house they had to lock it in a bedroom till you were in the house and seated. His brother-in-law who lived next door made the mistake of just opening the door and walking in one day. Got bit for that mistake.

Funny part is that the BIL usually came over at least once a day and had been for 3 years of the dog being there. Also that once the BIL was in using the proper procedure the dog would usually go sit on his lap.

These dogs really are dangerous. Especially the flying ones.
