As much as I like cars and racing, if I'm not competing I don't pay much attention.
Yes, NASCAR is much more than go fast turn left. I do wish they would put the "stock" back into stock cars, but thats a different thread.

What isn't a challenge? I mean the competition level in NASCAR is pretty fierce, with rarely any team running away with it. No track is a slam dunk.
The 1.5-mile tri- and quad-ovals got a bad rap because of one main reason - they overdid it.
Las Vegas.
Atlanta.
Texas.
Charlotte.
Chicagoland.
Kentucky.
Kansas.
Variety is the spice of life.

For the record I made this thread to explain how the tracks are challenging
"...no turn is the same thus each corner has a different line and speed which makes strategy crucial for these tracks..."
But you didn't explain anything that makes them uniquely challenging. And everyone here knows that NASCAR is high level motorsports with some of the best drivers out there. We just don't care that much.
It's like... walking into a soccer bar and telling people how difficult of a sport basketball is. Yeah. We know know LeBron is a great athlete. But if you want to convince us he's the *best* athlete, you're going to have to do better than telling us that he runs a lot and has really good hand-eye coordination.
and it just devolved into an argument
