The windshield on my FiST got a stone chip which radiated to several cracks ,one being quite long.

I called the claim number of my insurance company.

An appointment for the repair service to come to my house was made.

Right on time he arrived, a little over an hour and it was all done.  Told to let it set for a couple hours for the glue to dry.

 Absolutely no cost to me.

I'm a happy camper

Amazing how we get used to crap windshields. New glass and it's like driving in HD.

This. I've replaced the windshield in my e30 5 or 6 times at least. I'm always getting chips that immediately turn into cracks. But I just buy a used one from some guy parting a car out and install it. (Takes less than 15 minutes now that I've done it a few times; no glue) I jumped into the girlfriend's audi with a new windshield and holy E36 M3, I thought there was nothing there!
