Anybody going to be on Woodward in the next few days? I could meet some folks tonight or Friday. Gotta work the weekend.

I cant get there 'till the weekend. I'm actually more excited about seeing the Elio Motors car than anything else
Every night, but I'm only a couple of miles away. Cruising was getting started in earnest last week.
Yeah, I'm only about a half mile from Woodward ave. I'll actually be "cruising" woodward early Saturday morning and late in the evening, as part of my work commute. Not sure that will be fun, might have to take an alternate route home.
I'll be hanging around Thursday and Friday night. Saturday is too much of a madhouse for me. I go up to Flint for the "Back to the Bricks" show that day.
I'm moving that weekend, and the Yugo is down with a wiped cam, but I'm going to try to at least run up to Berkley or so and spectate a bit towards sundown.

That, too.
berkeleying overzealous Royal Oak cops.....
That's why you stay out of Royal Oak if you plan on any shenanigans.
Speaking of. What happens after the cops kick everybody out? I've never been able to stay ate enough to find out.

I go home! But you can hear cars for a long time after. I think they stay there until well after midnight to stop people going back on and doing stupid stuff
i will be up there tonight around 7:30, going to park @ 13 mile and wander around a bit. green GRM "SECURITY" t-shirt.

The cruise is through all the suburbs north of Detroit along Woodward ave. This was the traditional route in the 60s to my understanding too. Too crowded in Detroit back then. Woodward through Detroit back then was mostly downtown and very rich neighborhoods, not hot rod friendly. Still is to some extent. GM technical was and still is on 12 mile road, where they let prototypes out for testing on Woodward.
The traditional cruise route was from the Totem Pole at 10 mile to Teds at Square lake road. About 9 miles each way.
Had a great time with Ade and got to meet bastomatic last night. I took a bunch of pics, here they are: https://plus.google.com/photos/103364049340103330004/albums/5912713569151690945
Some highlights:
Wayne Gretzky's former Testarossa. The framed thing is a letter from Enzo that came with the car, and there's a laminated copy of the California title from 1992 with Gretzky's name on it.
McLaren MP4-12C:
New Jag F-type. It sounds every bit as good as Clarkson claims it does:
Countach:
GT40 with various signatures, including Bob Bondurant:
I'll be there this weekend. Closing on a house today so I've got a bunch of running around to do. Should be fun dealing with all the traffic...and parking
Of course, it wasn't all exotics, there were some oddball and GRM-ish cars there, too.
This (according to Ade) is an 80s British kit car known as a "Lomax":
Eagle SX4 for all you AMC lovers:
Super-clean Shelby Daytona with a roll bar and racing seats:
OG Mini, with Ade for scaling purposes:
AE86:
Pinto wagon:
Had a blast cruising the strip in the protege!
Saw the GRM fiesta down at the Ford end of town too.
I have to say seeing all the younger 20-somethings (I'm an older 20-something) in Elises and high-end cars was slightly depressing.
I definitely need to build a muscle car. Nothing beats that sound - well nothing I can afford anyways.

Oops, didn't know that GRM was making an official appearance, would have stopped by to say hi...
