A little ironic that there is a windmill in back of that gas guzzler truck towing the Camaro. You wouldn't happen to be a politician would you?

I also take the cart back to the entrance of the store, but then I know all the guys at the store by name and I see how hard they work. It doesn't take much time or effort to do it, although I will use the corral if it is raining. What irks me is people in the store who stand next to their cart, blocking the whole berkeleying aisle while they pick out their item. Then there's the parents who let their children push the little kiddie carts at Mach 1 through the store, unsupervised and running into other customers. I actually took one of those away from a kid once, as he was about to hit an elderly lady with it. I told him if he thought he deserved it back to go get a parent and I would discuss it with them. Sorry for the threadjack, I get a little riled up about cart ettiquette.

Sorry, this quote is KILLING me. I hear ya though about the carts. When I was younger my parents would push their carts all the way back into the store. Their opinion on the corrals: "You're just creating more work for someone else". I use corrals. I figure that's why they're there, but I wont push my cart into a mismatched cart... that would be (wait for it.....) "Just creating more work for someone else"! Sorry for the O.T., back to parking

I push the carts into the Corrals just because they pay people to pull them out and drag them back to the store. I would rather that person keep their job

I try to always do this, too. You're in my part of the world; I dunno if you shop at Fred Meyer, but they've ruined me by having two sizes of cart and only one corral... I don't want to stick my small cart in after a big cart... Leaving the best option to not hose the cart jockeys to set it alongside the corral? What were you saying about OCD?

Yeah, I worked at one briefly after H.S. (Hollywood shortly after it opened). The two different cart thing is annoying. Luckily, I've not had problems with sticking my cart in the corals ;) I could see other people having issues though ;)

Seriously though, similar issues occur at Costco and Home Depot due to the low-boy carts, etc. In those cases you take the odd cart back to the front or to another coral, which ever is closest.

The people that leave the carts in the parking spots absolutely piss me off. At least walk the mofo to a coral. The annoying thing? Many of the people I see doing this are my age or younger, so it is just absolute laziness.

Guys, guys, GUYS! (and gals)

I just got a pic of this while out to lunch:

Can you guess what word is underneath the car, above "PARKING?" Hint: That's a walkway he's blocking and a handicapped space to the right.

Car had diplomatic plates on, door cracked open, and engine running. It was really, REALLY hard not to berkeley with him, especially considering that you could drive into the Atlantic about 400ft in the background.

i feel that way about the self serve checkout lanes... they are trying to push people to them, and they give me a blank stare when i tell them that they are out of a job as soon as everyone learns how to use it..

To judge how long it takes to go through the self checkout around here... that will -never- happen. It is faster to wait in line at a regular checkout than to use the self machines. Too many people who have no idea how to breath are using them

I am reminded of a comic bit by Bill Burr when I see the self-checkout lanes: "I am giving you 100% of the money to make 100% of the sandwich. I'm sorry they fired the mayo guy, but I'm not doing it"

the grocery store where I do most of my shopping (several different locations) dropped all their self check-out lines ... store manager told me that they were way more trouble than they were worth

I only use the self checkout lanes if there is no line, I have cash, and I have fewer than 5 items. Otherwise I'm letting somebody else bag my stuff for me because it is faster. And it keeps some high school kid employed.

I like the self check outs, most people around here are too dumb to figure out what to do with them and go to the cashier. Even if there is a cashier with an open lane I still go to the self check out. I can scan my stuff faster than the old lady that has to walk around the counter with the handheld or scans the wrong bar code 6 times before figuring out she is scanning the shipping bar code. The exception would be if I am buying spray paint, or key board duster, the self check out makes me wait to get ID-d to make sure I am over 16

Those need to be super sticky and made out of paper. That way it takes them 30 minutes with their fingernail and goo b gone to remove them
