I kinda like the traditional songs; they bring back warm memories from childhood.

That is, for maybe two weeks.. after several months, it does become taxing.

I worked at a Toys R Us during Nov and Dec before. It was flat out crazy however kind of fun some days. Though one day I was ready to drop kick this one kid to the front of the store.

Tim, I hate to say something so sexist...but to me `listning to better X-mess music' is like saying you've found the smartest fat girl at the dance.

That reminds me...I gotta take the first two weeks of December on vacation, so that I'm not homicidal when X-mess finally comes around...

Me, too. I can imagine the term "going Christmas" replacing the term "going Postal" in the next couple of years...

Now thats funny! Here in the Detroit area, we have a radio station that goes 24/7 Christmas music sometime in November. No commercials, no DJ's, just music.... And 2 huge 365 days a year Christmas stores.

I like Halloween instead. Beer and girls in skimpy costumes.

Someone mentioned Trans Siberian Orchestra. Give that a try. If you like hard rock, you might like them.

About 10 years ago, I made a banzai run from Baltimore to Miami on Christmas Eve. I think I heard the same 8 songs done in every musical style known to man, for 18 straight hours. I did regain my sanity after some sleep.

I have been listening to "the death of beethoven" for a couple of weeks now.. TSO is branching out from doing Christmas

Ugh. We just aired our first X-mess commercial earlier this week. Disney's got a CGI version of "A Christmas Carol" hitting theatres on Nov. 6 or so, and they're pushing it hard.

Sometimes, I look at the PBS station down the street, and wonder if I should apply for work over there. It'd be nice to use my powers for good instead of evil for a change...

OTOH, I'm addicted to the money/benefits/vacation time where I am (been there almost 20yrs). I'm such a slave to "the man"..

You Scrooges are just part of the "War on Christmas" that Bill O'Reilly is always talking about!

Baxter.....what is this "better" Christmas music you are talking about? Whenever I hear holiday music it makes me want to smash my head against the wall. Good thing I live in a room with padded walls!

you are a better man than me, Reverend.. just going shopping with that music blaring over the speakers is enough to make me homicidal...

I do remember a time years ago when I was 18.. I was driving a delivery van on christmas eve making a special delivery. The AM radio could only pick up one channel and it was playing nothing but chrismas carols.

What sucked.. all I got for a tip that night.. a plate of cookies

I did overnight stocking at a food world from nov-jan... the muzac was horrid... I like Christmas music... but honetly there's like what... 15 standard Christmas songs tops?... so you've got EVERY artist ever doing the same 15 or so songs... it gets tiring hearing the same song 15 different ways over the process of the night

Elsewhere, I've been quite vocal about my hatred of..uh..how do I say it in a "family" forum?...um..."jailhouse hiney-love music".

But that one was kinda cool! Perhaps I should reconsider my stance on rap.

I'm one of the cranks who says "No Christmas before Thanksgiving!" Then, after Thanksgiving, I listen to Christmas music until about Jan 6.. Then it's none until next Thanksgiving.

It's all about proper timing. Christmas music has its time and place. And that's late November to early January.

I find myself enjoying Christmas LESS the MORE that businesses try to cash in on it.

Just for grins a few years ago I began wondering if you could fit the words into the rifs/melody for "Enter Sandman" from Metalica. Subsitute "Silient night" for "Exit light" you get an idea where I was headed.
