That's right, a class action suit against RedBull for not actually giving you "wings".......

Goddamnit.
I do however want to get the list of people who 'won' just in case anyone I know is on there.
At which point I will heckle them mercilessly.
Forever.

Did you even read the article?

Red Bull claims in its marketing that the drink can improve concentration and reaction speeds, but the plaintiff in the case said these claims are false and lack scientific support. While the suit did not allege that plaintiffs were disappointed that they didn't grow actualy wings, it does claim that Red Bull relies a lot on terms like "wings" and "boost" to give consumers the impression that the drink gives people some sort of physical lift or enhancement.

They aren't being sued because the customers didn't actually grow wings, they are being sued because they claim that the stuff boosts energy and concentration, and that isn't true. Frankly, I don't see the problem.

Regardless, that crap could cure cancer and I still wouldn't drink it. It's nasty.

No, they are being sued because some worthless berkeley of a lawyer wants money and convinced a bunch other worthless berkeleys that they want money too. So the people that actually drank the crap get $10. The lawyer gets millions.

Yeah, but "not growing wings" is so more sensational for a headline.

How are we supposed to E36 M3 on Americans and their lawyers if you show us what the real lawsuit is about.

Well, large amounts of caffeine will certainly give you energy, not sure about concentration and reaction, but that would seem to be a possibility.

Yes, Redbull is nasty stuff, but strangely very popular.

It is pretty amazing how companies keep finding different delivery methods for caffeine and market it like they are have made some huge discovery. I am waiting for someone to market some new discovery of "Energy Pills":

No, Caffeine does not give you energy. Only food, with calories, does that. It will keep you awake, it might increase altertness, but it does not give you energy.

I was being a smartass since its very obvious this is a frivolous lawsuit at best, it ranks right up there with the spilling of hot coffee, fast food made me fat, and so on.....

I do drink redbull occasionally, but that's due to what I really like not being made anymore. Powerade used to have one that was sold in stainless steel bottles....it was delicious plus the bottle stayed cold for much much longer than aluminum or plastic.

I've only tried Red Bull once or twice and found it undrinkable. That said, I like a lot of the things they sponsor and that they use their sponsorship money to fund some really cool and interesting events.

Too bad we are not suffering from a lawyer shortage in this country - this lawsuit is ridiculous. A guy really drank Red Bulls for 10 years and was upset that he didn't become a better athlete? What an asshat. I hope he chokes on his $10 payment.

That's why in university I would down a "food-drink" with a red bull when I was doing a diploma program at night alongside the degree program.

I think I had one of those powerade ones before. Not sure.

Most of the time I go to Ollies and grab whatever energy drinks they have, if they have any. 5 bucks for a case of 24 is way better than 5 bucks for 2. Hit or miss on taste though.

There's one called Spike that's hilariously dangerous. One can has 33 THOUSAND percent of your recommended daily dose of B12. I tried it, E36 M3 was awesome.

I watched a documentary about the hot coffee lawsuit. That lady was really badly burnt and didn't really get a giant payout. That lawsuit was hijacked to make it into a rallying cry about how we need tort reform, but it seems like it all driven by the big corporations to protect themselves. They've tricked you into supporting their side by leading you to think it is in your best interest when it is not. The Hot Coffee movie, of course, has its own agenda, but I encourage you to watch it to at least get the other side of the story. The lady still poured hot coffee on herself and I think her injuries were as severe as they were because she was old and unable to get up out of the car very fast so she sat in a puddle of very hot coffee until she was severely burned. Someone else may have jumped out of the car a lot faster and not have gotten burned so badly.

It's really silly to market things like Red Bull, Powerade and "food drinks" (I don't know how common these are in the US, but Enterex is an example) all as "energy drinks." They're all completely different things and only the latter actually packs meaningful energy. An athlete has no business drinking the first. It won't help anything.

Looks kinda shady though, what with the little spoons and scale on the counter covered in white powder.

I tried a diet RB once and a regular once. I'm done, that is some awful crap and I'm truly astonished that they sell enough of it to sponsor teams in a virtually every form of racing I have an interest in. It must be because of the cool readily identifiable logo.
