You get to take an OB test at 9am and by 10am you have to move your vehicle due to a flash flood.
Pics to follow later because this is only a phone.

The shop I work on was flooded out by a sewage creek. I'll load up the pictures of people swimming across the street.
It was a great excuse to have fun in the truck.

Only a phone? WOW! That means that OB jokes are OK. Anyone who would admit they have "only a phone" in public is fair game for anything you want to throw their direction.
Flash flood? Can we talk about that for a minute? How do you get a flash flood in Kentucky? I always think about Louisiana and stuff for flash flooding.

Think back about a year and real close to home:

we have plenty of runoff around here.. it's when it decides to run back with the hightide that we have to worry
Flash floods? They have them in Las Vegas and they can be bad. So no, you don't need to live in a mountainous area, or near an ocean.
In yesterday's paper (Jacksonville, Fl.) there was an article about homes in the area that FEMA had helped homeowners rebuild SEVERAL times due to flooding in the area. The city was finally going to buy as many as it could and take them off the market using the land as a park/rec area.
If your home floods more than once or twice, should the Federal government really help you rebuild it? And no, these are no where near a beach or river, just a creek that flash floods.
I have witnessed flash floods both times I have visited Vegas for the Interbike Show, and it was impressive to watch the water moving OUT in those really deep seemingly over optimistic water shed channels.
When I first heard the water rushing, all the hairs on the back of my neck and my arms stood on end, it was such an out of place ocean-y sound to hear in the desert. My inner voice was primal. RUN AWAY!!
Ok, I'm finally home.
As to the phone comment, it is much to difficult for me to copy/paste picture links from it.
So without further adieu....
When it first started getting bad:
A little bit later:
A a lil bit later still after having to move my vehicle which was next to this Jeep:
After moving my vehicle...it was almost not enough still:
I'm just glad to finally be home after 7hrs of being stuck at a closed school.
Oh yeah.... The final resting spot for the Envoy:
And that first Jeep...Yea up to the bottom of the windows.

I haven't read the article, but would those houses happen to be in Middleburg off of Black Creek?
