Well, I saved my pennies and I saved my dimes (Giddyup, giddyup, 3-10-aah)
For I knew there would be a time (Giddyup, giddyup, 3-10-aah)
When I would buy a brand new 3-10

Two different songs from the sage known as Fred J Eaglesmith.
Streak of lightning coming down the highway
Turn around and watch it go
Switch on the lights
Put on the highbeams
Better find a preacher on the radio
I like to drive at 105
Its just how fast I got to go
I got the gears and I got the motor
Aint no reason to go slow
And I like the speed I like the motion
I like the rockin machine
I like to drive at 105
Better hurry up if you wanna catch me
Well I got a little pickup
It used to be a Ford
Its quite a little sweetie, got a four on the floor
All the fellas used to race me
But they don’t anymore
Cause lately at the red line she just stalls
Nothing happens when I put it to the bar
Might be the alternator
Could be the coil
Either Richard Thompson Vincent black lighting, or Metallica fuel.
I know I didn't post the lyrics, it's cause I love the whole damn song!
Probably more than half of Fu Manchu's back catalog is car related.
King of the Road says you move to slow.
Gripping the wheel, his knuckles went white with desire!
The wheels of his Mustang exploding on the highway like a slug from a .45.
True death: 400 horsepower of maximum performance piercing the night...
This is black sunshine…
The Cadillac a-sittin' like a ton of lead
A hundred and ten a half a mile ahead.
The Cadillac lookin' like it's sittin' still
When I caught Maybellene at the top of the hill.
I used to walk past the Stop'n'Shop,
Now I drive past the Stop'n'Shop!
With 50,000 watts of power
I drive a hundred miles an hour
With the radio on!
Through Massachusetts when it's late at night
Down 128 out past the power lines...
Roadrunner - Jonathan Richman and the Modern Lovers
Nobody gonna take my car, I'm gonna race it to the ground Nobody gonna beat my car, it's gonna break the speed of sound Ooh it's a killing machine, it's got everything Like a driving power, big fat tires and everything
I love it, and I need it, I feed it Yeah it's a wild hurricane Alright hold tight, I'm a highway star ....
Nobody gonna take my head I got speed inside my brain Nobody gonna steal my head now that I'm on the road again Ooh I'm in heaven again I've got everything Like a moving ground, an open road and everything
I love it, I need it, I bleed it Eight cylinders all mine Alright hold tight, I'm a highway star
Reluctantly crouched at the starting line
Engines pumping and thumping in time
The green light flashes, the flags go up
Churning and burning, they yearn for the cup

You can basically listen to any of their albums and find a gem. Personal favorite songs include Superbird, California Crossing, Boogie Van, Hell on Wheels, and the previously mentioned King of the Road. And they have the best album covers and artwork. See?

Can I add some sailing lyrics? Just because I love them and it's sort of related...
Got out of town on a boat goin' to Southern islands Sailing a reach before a followin' sea She was makin' for the trades on the outside And the downhill run to Papeete
Off the wind on this heading lie the Marquesas We got eighty feet of the waterline nicely making way In a noisy bar in Avalon I tried to call you But on a midnight watch I realized why twice you ran away.......
"I am the patron saint of lost causes" - Anberlin
Perfectly summarizes all my attempts at working cars. Also characterizes some of the cars I've owned.

I saw them again in 2012 at Small's in Hamtramck, MI.
Edit: Alabama ThunderBob Costas is supposed to be Alabama Thunderp*ssy
