Mercedes OM606 in a parts car $1000 - NMSA in NJ

A shop near me has a parts car (E300 maybe? Not sure) that runs and drives well enough to get on a trailer with what seems to be a decent condition OM606 inside it. Apparently has one glow plug stuck in the head, but otherwise healthy. I wanted it to swap into my OBS Ford, but the timing doesn't work out as they want it gone within the next week or so and I don't have the space, time, or disposable cash to throw at it. They said $1000 to me a few week ago and when I just called them for an unrelated thing they said "fire sale for the next few days" because they want to clear lot space.

That seems like a great deal. NJ is too far for me.

I'd be willing to go that distance ; visit family in va on the way. But without a month or more to plan/save for, ain't gonna happen. I could find all kind of things, that would love that drivetrain!
