Picked up a running driving ratty audi today. 02 v6 6 speed manual quattro a4. Clutch is whooped and has many miles so not worth putting any $ into it. Motegi wheels, coilovers, interior is black and mostly decent. Anybody need anything? Won't ship big stuff but can aid in grm relay
Did you buy it to part it out to make money, or do you have some plans for this beast?
I bought it untested hoping it was FWD and decent enough to winter beater then donate driveline to my sand rail but the clutch told me it was cooked when I went to load it and turns out it's AWD so A?
I was hoping for a ridiculous build of some sort.

It's got an ohio salvage title but doesn't need anything to pass inspection for rebuild. Ohio is dumb and brands all unclaimed tow/impound cars as salvage regardless of condition.
If you decide to part it, I might be interested in the transmission, assuming it's an 01e!

It's still on my trailer. I have the title now. I'm down to sell whatever off it starting now if it doesn't make it not movable and soon if that's the case. Got busy with work and cleaning up the new winter beater for salvage inspection
I am pretty sure this has exactly the transmission I have been looking for for the Quantum. It should be an 01E with a 4.11 final drive.
I also am low key interested in the engine because aluminum Audi V6

I was hoping to pick it up and am relatively local I think, but if Pete's got a more pressing need he's welcome to it. It'd probably end up sitting on my shelf until my 016 dies
I have two or three 016s already, I believe you have dibs, and I am in no hurry.
I am more worried about future proofing. The larger issue is that I have not seen a way to swap an 01E into a B2 chassis car without doing a five lug swap from a B4 (?). The Quantum is 4x100 and it has a trailing arm rear suspension like a Super Beetle or 944. Plus I have a good amount of 4x100 wheels and I don't think anyone makes a 13x9 wheel for 5x112.

You can come check it out too. I'm busy so it's still on the trailer. Airing the tires and a jump is all it should need for a test drive.

Took it for a quick spin, it might be a good/fun beater for someone with some time and diagnostics, or an excellent parts/donor car. Clutch feels decent, just wasn't used to the pedal when I was loading it
Oh boy the want is strong! My dad had a 04 1.8T 6MT! The only thing I could offer is a 96 Buick Roadmaster!

this thing is a functional vehicle in the basic sense of the term. It was impounded while being driven, it goes and stops, the radio works.

Are you still selling parts for this by any chance? I have the same exact model in Red with an Automatic transmission and she's in dire need of some body repair. Just bought it, I'm sure it's previous owner didn't really care for it too much.

How much are you looking for the entire car? It's driveableish? What does it need?

I drove it. It goes, stops, trans feels great, no check engine light. The clutch feels on its last legs. The battery is weak so I jump it to move it. If a grm member wants the whole car for $600 I just need to put the title in my name to sign over. It has an ohio salvage title so it would need inspection by whatever your state needs. Unfortunately ohio brands all unclaimed impounds as salvage regardless of condition, so my perfectly fine Avalon that needed no body work has a rebuilt title.
It has coilovers up front and lowering springs in the rear with bilsteins. The exhaust is gone behind the diff. The seats are comfortable, the windows work, the radio works. It could be a solid awd quick-ish manual fun beater with a clutch and a going over.
Probably not a suitable Fly 'n Drive to California. Probably cost a grand to ship it. Hmm...
