I first offered this collection to the folks at GRM World Headquarters but they replied that they already had a full set of these very same books. They don't need two sets. So, now the offer goes out to the hive.
I have come upon a complete set of Automotive Quarterly volumes 1 through 45 with a complete index.
What you ask is Automotive Quarterly? These are hardbound books published 4 times a year and sold to subscribers for $95 per issue. Each book contains numerous articles on collector cars, race cars, biographies of famous automotive people. Tons of high quality photographs, original art, etc.
Currently they are boxed in order in five (5) boxes, each box weighing about 50 pounds. I need the room in my shop!
I want them to find a new home... free.
I realize 250 pounds is a shipping problem. I would be willing to shrinkwrap the boxes on a pallet and and take them to a truck depot and ship them off if someone wants to pay the shipping. I'd even be willing to drive 100 miles from Havana Florida to meet somebody if it helps.
Obviously, I'd like them to go to a good home.

Wow, that's just awesome.
2nd in line please, and in FL
Hasbro has first place.
But, if it doesn't work out, dyintorace is a close second.
Mrs. Frog says I should have sold them. I'm more into clearing the shelves. They are somewhat unbelievable. You can start looking at them and hours later have to tell yourself to quit. I just want them going to a good home to be enjoyed.
My local library can't give the shelf space. It would be neat if kids could page through them...
If it makes you feel better, know they are going to a good home, and will be appreciated. That's my hope for my stuff when I finally punch out.
I'm psyched! My current office will be moved shortly and the room will be turned into a traditional library/den. Floor to ceiling shelves, leather chair, globe, etc. This awesome collection will get top billing on either side of a floor to ceiling window (where window is in pic).
You may need to reinforce the subfloor. LOL
That's an awesome gift. Had it been available within driving distance of me I'd be all over that offer. Automobile Quarterly is a really nice read.
In reply to Hasbro (Forum Supporter) :
The whole 45 volumes will only occupy about 90 inches of shelf space. You need a gazillion other automotive books if you want a proper library...
USPS Media Post shipping should be easier to do and way cheaper if they arent enroute.

That is an impressive giveaway. Mike may not remember this, but about 10 years ago, he out of the blue sent my son a box of racing stickers, a signed Purple Frog Hoosier racing hat, and other trinkets. That stuff is still kicking around even after 3 moves :-) Still thankful for all the help he gave on my 82 Reynard FF that I was restoring and running with the FRCCA at the time. I miss that car, it was a lot of fun to drive, but the FRCCA doesn't run at my more convenient tracks now (VIR, CMP, RRR, etc), so now it's just track days in the E36 track rat.
I recognized Wake74 in a heartbeat. Reynards are sort of addictive.
What is your son up to these days? I have a shop full of stuff...
Stuff needs homes that appreciate it.

Our son just turned 14. Great kid, already clocked his first week long service mission trip, volunteers with my wife at the local food bank weekly during the summer. Taking drum lessons, reading, video games are the current interests. But despite having spent his young years sleeping in a tent at the track, and then having spending his tween years sleeping at the lodge at VIR, he has absolutely no interest in wrenching, cars, etc. He'll be eligible for a permit next year, and the fatherly banter about what type of car he wants isn't getting anywhere. But he's happy and healthy, so lots to be thankful for. I'm just wrapping up a frame off TR6 project, really close to done, just waiting on the leather interior from Skinner in the UK. The E36 track rat is a stripped down dedicated track car, that got the full M3 conversion last year minus the engine which is on a stand waiting for this winter. It may get a cage this winter as well, so I can run the Friday enduro's with a friend on NASA weekends. I have at least upgraded to a better trailer with AC :-)
We met Hasbro in Omega Georgia yesterday afternoon and transfered 250 pounds of books into his truck. The locals must have thought it was a roadside drug deal. LOL
More room in my little shop. If Barry reads two hours per day, he has a few years of reading material.

About those bags of powder in box #5.... and there's a barking dog at the door.
They're gorgeous! 45 years, about 180 books! Man, they're a treasure and I will treat them thus. On top of that Mr and Mrs Frog drove two hours to make my trip less of a burden. Hope you two stay here on your next Road Atlanta visit. Thank you, thank you.
