I have 5 of these I got in a pile of parts in exchange for some work but not sure what they're for.

any idea what for and what they're worth?

id sell them here for less.

They don't look domed enough to be an air cooled VW, maybe one of the later watercooled? A rabbit or jetta or something?

VW rabbit, Dasher..

From 1976 until 1984 or so.

but they don't seem to match any bug hubcaps I saw in looking around, but they definitely look like early rabbit.

Also, they are held on with some clips that insert into holes in the VW steel wheels

You need it all. The right wheel, the 5 clips and the cap
