Strong running 300 hp in an all aluminum modern package- what's not to love?
Ive got a complete running Avalon rollover victim. Trans shifts well, engine pulls hard. The body is shot, but it can be driven.
Awesome cart project or motor donor. Where are the MR2 guys??
I lost my storage. It's got to go.
I've got $900 in it, and that's what I'm asking. Entire car for much less than the motor is worth. This would be easy to zero out in a Challenge budget. Must be gone in 30 days.

You could take a sawzall to this and make a cart in 2 weekends that would be a contender at the Challenge.
So I think I just need another one to create a twin engine all wheel drive death kart. How many miles on the car?

Looks like a swap you should be able to complete solo in 2-3 hours.

You bring the MR2 and the willingness, I'll bring the complete running 2GR and drivetrain!
The difference is the first MR2 parking lot build did not have a complete engine and management setup.
This one does!
I will gladly bring the parking lot build MR2. I'd suggest giving ourselves a few more days though. I live about 3 miles from the hotel so getting there early is no problem at all for me.

This isn't about "winning". It would be easy for me to take first place in the autocross and yet you be perceived as the winner! Heck, that has already happened between you and me many times!
Im not asking you if you want to try to beat me at the autocross. I'm asking you if you want to join together and we can both be significant contributors to the editorial content of the event!!

I think there are only two ways to do this swap in a parking lot timeframe.
A: Fabricate a bunch of mounts and stuff ahead of time (requires a large amount of measuring/coordination)
B: Cut the whole back of the MR2 out and the whole front of the Avalon off and weld them together (requires a large amount of mig wire and cutoff wheels)
Anyone have a massive welder/generator combo on a truck that also has a small crane?
The mounts and axles are much less difficult if you use an MR2 transmission but one that will handle the power is very pricey. The attached Avalon transmission will handle the power and IIRC has a decent manual select mode but axle and mounts get complicated.
Hmmm, RX300's have stub axles that might go into the avalon transmission.

Don't you have one of the Solara manual transmissions looking for a home? the one that is effectively the 2nd gen MR2 turbo trans?
