I believe he does. And it's really scary that we all know each other's spare parts inventories!!
The linkage on the Solara is backwards to the MR2, but there is an easy work-around.

Lol-I think we all keep a mental inventory of all of our car friends stuff and sell it back and forth as needed. Are you interested in selling that transmission?

It's scary until you realize that none of us actually ever sell or trash anything so really it's sort of like remembering bible verses. They're never going to change.
Also, I don't remember my friend's birthdays, but I do remember those sweet foglights on the shelf in their garage...

as far as i remember, axles are a MAJOR problem with this swap.

Thats what my searches are telling me. Seems like there is some hope with using the less rugged transmissions and playing nice with them. I am also going to pursue finding stub axles with flanges to plug into whatever transmission I use and matching them to AW11 flanged axles. Sounds like a junkyard trip is in my near future.
I think these would be the Solara axles (by the way, total for both on rock auto is about $90):
and
that makes it look like the trans end needs a 24 spline end. the 2nd gen turbo trans looks like a 20 spline end, maybe?
Here would be the aw11 (1986) axles:
Maybe you could cut the solara inners and weld flanges, or maybe you could simply swap the outer housings, but I bet then they would be way too wide. MAAAAAAAYBE you could just use the solara inner housings with the AW11 internal bearings and shaft, but internet says they are not the same type of CV.
Also, if you do the flange thing, I think you could use 2x AW11 left side axles since the solara has the carrier bearing setup.

Can you put up an RX300 axle? They have flanged stub axles and I think they might plug into an Avalon transmission.
So the fwd RX300 has flanged axle stubs with 24 splines on the internal side and the overall axle has 30 splines on the outside. It looks like it will probably slide into both the Solara manual transmission and Avalon auto transmission. The support bearing may need to be moved slightly depending on the application. It looks like the stub axle is discontinued but there is a RX300 at the local LKQ. Joining those stubs with the flanged MR2 axles may be possible.

Lol-That's an Avalon? I thought it was a High RPM tuned Lotus motor with a 6 speed electronically shifted transmission.

Sure sale or trade, delivery might be available
Youve got mail!
Wow, really have to get on here more often (doh, I know) as this went in a bit terribly surprising but fantastic direction.

Once again, I have to say, I like your thinking, Sir!!!
This parking lot build I would LOVE to give a hand with! Or just a parking lot death cart Build... er... cut up!
I don't have a big welder, or the ability to use it well enough to count. I am, however OK with a torch, and VERY VERY good with a death wheel on a grinder! and have a big generator...
Ok, this thread has taken a tangent. Let me see if I can be clear....
The Avalon is FOR SALE. No one has offered to buy it, so it is NOT the parking lot build.
IF someone steps up to buy it, I MAY be willing to deliver it to the Challenge and be part of a PLB.
Mr Joshua has several MR2s in Gainesville, but has not offered any yet.
IF my 2GR-FE ends up in the Black MR2 from last year, I will make an offer to buy the car from the PLB team.
But right now? It's just an Avalon donor car for sale. $900.
