Since I'll be picking up Lofi Andy's NB in March, I'm looking ahead for some parts:

Leather Tan NB Seats - 2001+ "Surfboard style

NB Bilstein Struts

NO LONGER NEEDED - NB Mazdaspeed Springs

I'm located in MI, or could pick parts up on the way back from Florida in the NB in March.

I'd try to match the shocks and the springs from the same donor - IIRC there was a perch height difference in the MSM rear so you get funky ride heights if you mix and match.

Might want to specify which NB tan you want, it changed in 2001 when the "surfboard" seats came in.

Good call, after doing some reading on prior Rallycross miata threads (many with your input!), it sounds like the FM NB springs and Koni sports might not be a bad setup, as far as spring rates and damping go?

I would need to figure out how to increase the height slightly: different perches, or cut in a new circlip groove.  I probably should think about coilover sleeves as that would afford more flexibilty.

As for seat style, surfboard look is great!

That's the "parchment" tan. I quite like it, but it doesn't always play well with the previous tan. Not sure what you've got for carpet here.

I don't have much personal experience with rallyx. The FM/Koni setup works pretty well on damaged roads, so it should work pretty well on all but the roughest autox courses. New circlip grooves are a great idea to give yourself some lift. Just watch out you don't put the springs into bind at full compression, that tends to remove the perch from the shock.

Excellent news! I'll probably experiment a bit with some 3D printed spacers for the perches and test it statically on the car with compression then decide where to go (or if coilover sleeves are needed).

Regarding carpet color, I have no idea, will try to find that out.  It's a 1999 NB with tan package, appears that it would have had leather in OEM configuration and cloth seats were swapped?

That's the earlier tan if it's a '99. Parchment showed up in 2001. All "tan" Miata interiors had leather seats, but not all tans are the same :)

Here's a comparison - check that window switch.

You can math out the perches easily enough. Measure the wire diameter and the number of coils and multiply one by the other. That's your bind height. Minimum spring length (distance between the upper and lower perch) at full extension = bind height + shaft travel - compressed bumpstop height. You can run a little taller if you're willing to space the bumpstop down with a solid spacer or run a longer bumpstop - basically, give up some shaft travel in exchange.

Don't you have this data (wire diameter and number of coils) on the FM NB springs ;) ?

Will be planning to run the 14" 7 spoke wheels with Alpha Eurocross tires, 165/70R14 - Diameter: 24.02 in, Tread Width: 4.72 in, Tread Depth: 0.55 in, Weight: 17.64 lbs, should make for an interesting look at least.

I need to start a build thread.

Engineering has it, I don't have it at my house :)

You need to start a build thread. I used to run 175 snows if memory serves.

I have a pair of tan seats that are mint. I don't recall what year they came out of but the have the speakers in them and the weird seat belt system on the sides.  I think they are the darker tan because I remember having a '99 that had lighter tan seats. I'll get some pics today. The best part is you will probably have to drive within 10 blocks of my shop in St Pete if you are heading home on I-275.

Awesome! This is why I love GRM.  I was leaning towards finding some NB tan seats but the seat speakers might be too cool to pass up.  Really I just want to have a full tan interior, "black and tan" if you will, not too concerned about 100% period correct matching (sounds like 99 would hard to match anyway).

Build thread posted here if interested: https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/build-projects-and-project-cars/rallycross-miata-the-supercharged-nb-sequel/191789/page1/#post3419692

Thinking about this further, I really would like to stick to NB tan seats if possible, but thanks for the offer jgrewe!
