Started out with the question: foam or no? Is foam in cheap aluminum cells from Jegs or Summit compatible with E10 gas? How long would it last?
The cell will be maybe 6 inches behind the front bumper beam and behind some other structure. I'm thinking an aluminum cell will be safer in a wreck than a plastic one?
I know it's technically not street legal but I can't imagine anybody caring.
The reason why I want to do this is long and rather off topic. I'll go there if you really want.... but maybe it's just a simple question with simple answers. Thanks!
I can imagine a lot of people caring about that. 6 inches behind the front bumper? what car is this in? does it have any baffling or no? If not then yes, I'd imagine the slosh would be extreme.
I don't know about foam, but in regards to a bladder type cell your answer would be no. I have an fia cell in my racecar and e10 will eat it and drastically shorten its life.
Whats this for? I have run the smaller cells front mount like that for nitrous only fuel systems. I wouldnt necessarily front mount anything bigger unless the tank is normally there (bug, p-car).
I avoid foam usually but there are alcohol safe versions available. May not be in the cheaper cells.
I have an fia cell in my lemons car. It's more than 10 years old, and we run e10 without an issue. I check the foam every other year, and have never seen degradation.

What he says. I've also street driven said car. Metal enclosure, plastic bladder, and foam. I just added a sending unit to ours so I can monitor fuel level (suck luxury!)
