Charging a battery in the shop today and knocked the charger off the bench. Dead. Didn't like it much anyway. Plastic Schumacher.  Opened it up to see if blown fuse or something but no luck.

What's out there? All about the same? Don't really need jump start but do want auto shut down/maintenance mode.

Looks like Schumacher has about 10,000 different models. Anybody else in this market worth looking at?

CTEK is another well known brand.

I'd be looking at my needs:

- Hi current starting capability?

- Smart long-term charging (hook it up and forget it for months)?

- Lithium charging?

Then it's just a matter of weeding through the 10,000 options smiley

I have to admit that I like the smart stuff for being able to walk away from it for a long time, but sometimes they seem finicky and then you have to figure out why.  I still pull out the 50 year old zero-smarts charger sometimes.

I have a dump and smart charger. I always seem to use the old dumb one. It also has a 100 amp boost that is ok at getting a completely dead battery to come back to life.
