Alright, I will need a trailer.  I hope to be home to get the race car running.  That means I will need a trailer to be able to move it around.  I made a deal with the bus to sell my enclosed 7x12.

I want to get to a 16' enclosed, but I don't want to buy what I want now.  *fold down side wall tents, etc*.  So I am thinking of doing an open 7x12 or so.

I could get a boat trailer.  Or a small utility to use.  I also built a table which is about 6x10.  The car is 72x126 or so.  Which is doable on that table easy.  I plan to pull the legs and have the top left.

So, is it dumb to either:

A) get an axle and strap under that

B) mount an axle or hub onto a 4x3 section and make a lowering trailer?

How dumb am I to pursue building something vs modding vs spending a few hundred more for a trailer?

You have the fab skills to do it & not worry about it breaking in half on the first trip(unlike me). So I'd say it comes down to whether your time & the end result are worth more than spending a few hundred extra to go out & buy one.

I've done these mental builds many times. I begrudgingly can't get a trailer diy build to come out as any kind of $$ saver.

So unless the trailer you want is unavailable, the only reason to diy is because you'd enjoy the build.

But you probably won't save money.

Kinda come to that result.

I have found a cheap boat trailer that I am looking into today. So, that may be the way this will go.
