How do I get in on the tgrm club?
Quick tuning Q:
Based on my experience with Forza 3, the LSD seemed to assume a clutch-type differential (at least the "race" diff). Does Forza 4 let you try a Quaife/Torsen vs Clutch vs viscous vs spool vs ???
In reply to johnnytorque:
You have to send a request to the club within the game, so that Tom, Scott, or I can approve it.
In reply to scardeal: Nope. It's all the same. Based on how well their experience went with Pirelli, I wish Turn 10 would get together with Torsen, and some suspension company, to improve the rest of the game as much as they've improved the tire physics.

I maxed out my Bmw 2002 last night and it's a hand full in it's current state. A real rocket but a tail happy rocket.
I did the same to my '71 Mustang and it's really fun. Stable, predictable, etc.
It'd be nice too if they calculated statistics based on your selected suspension settings, eg frequency, effective spring rate, roll centers, etc.
Unfortunately I wasn't able to make it to the "league" night. What was the consensus? Is there going to be a sorta regular race and then some just whatever sounds fun?
I'd cast a vote for one of B-Spec, Trans-Am, or Spec Miata as the weekly race.

While there seem to be pickup games happening most nights (at least for now while it's all still new) I think Sunday evening might be the first "official" league night.
I've gotten lots of support but not much feedback, so I guess we'll go round-robin and do a b-spec race(Road Atlanta?), followed by a Trans-Am race(Road America?), followed by a Spec Miata race. (Sebring?)
What time should we start?
All that sounds good. Earlier is typically better (work on Monday). What number of laps are we thinking?
I'm for "more realistic" as I'm going to lose anyway, so why not get lapped. What is a sprint race usually? Like 20ish laps? That might get boring, I dunno.
Were you thinking all three series on League night? I know you've uploaded example cars for each, but what is the spec for those wanting to roll their own? I heard A600 for Trans-Am, but that seems a little high for me. When I've messed with B-Specs, they tend to wind up around D350. No idea on Spec Miata, but it might be best with just an expect spec and screw the rating.
Im already over racing online with these kids. First turn, first lap in every online race i have been punted. I can work my way back up to second or third, but thats about it
It's time for the happy dance!
Got my job offer just one day after my interview, so I guess I'm doing something right!
If everything goes according to plan, I should be set up here in a couple weeks and free a few nights a week for online racing hijinx, and ready to race in the Sunday night free-for-alls!
Now to find some paint schemes for the spec cars.
Tom, the tuning is bang on but IMO the wheels on the car are all wrong. The compomotive ML wheel is a very close design to the mini-lites the trans am cars used. I was wondering if you could modify it to use those wheels instead.
There is a guy who has several trans am paint jobs in his storefront. That's where I got the Posey scheme from. Most have "trans am" in the title so a search should come up with them.
Road america sounds good and I might pick up a B spec tune also. As for time later but not too late. 6ish to 8ish would work.
It's best to go into a room without any assists on what-so-ever. Keeps the idiots out who can't drive. Rooms that are below B class seem to have fewer idiots as well.
Im usually lurking in the "D Class" online with my Miata. I usually have the lowest amount of car points in the class, so I start from pole everytime. I always have a Kobayashi trying to dive bomb me in turn 1 and takes me out

Does it match you automatically based on what your difficulty is at? I go in these races, get killed and finish last. My son, drives with all the assists on and is winning races? I don't get it?
I think you can choose to look for rooms that are restricted to certain assists. I don't know though, I only race online with tgrm.
I've got some slick stuff to share with the garage too. I tuned the Datsun 240Z into something way too fast (I think it is like A594 or something). I'm gonna detune it to around D350 or C245 and give it a BRE paint scheme. Along those lines, I'd like to try some of that lesser Trans-Am stuff (I think those BRE Datsun were in Trans-Am, right, just some "sub-3.5L" class or something like that).
I'm currently in a club(Rennlist) but there are only seven members and I'd like to join TGRM. The guy that runs Renn says it's fine, I can come and go. Just need to get added to tgrm. I did a race today with all assists on and used the joystick, I got second place. The BEST I've done with assists off and using my steering wheel is 6th place. Maybe I need to go back to iRacing, this is one of the most frustrating experiences I've ever had.
All I want is some good clean racing with assists off, it seems the only place is Rivals mode. Please somebody get me into tgrm!!!!!before it's too late!
Bought the game a week ago. Still haven't played it due to my 360 not being back from getting fixed.
So thanks for hooking me up with the tgrm group, I am dog slow but DAMN is that fun when you can actually race and chat at the same time without getting bashed and hearing cursewords every three seconds. Love it.

I run with all assists off using the regular controller. I'm on until 4 central today and maybe after 8. Gamertag is the same on xbox as here. I'll try to help you out as much as I can.

I'm good for 2 hours 8-10 Central before its bed time to get up at 5. I'm on early on Sundays. We had a pickup game earlier. Good times.
You'll need to log in to post.
