Agreed!

You can buy individual cars from the DLC as well...

Yes, that would work nicely. Especially for my 280Z & Datsun 510.
So is it just me, or did Turn 10 mess up by making the adjustable front splitter and rear wing have negative impact on the PI scores? Being able to add downforce should make you faster despite the weight increase, right?
i think it takes a hit on your top speed. drag and such.
and yes, they should have made flares available, for everything. i like teh blister flares.
As you get into higher classes, the PI will go up as you add downforce.
Too bad they didn't secure Porsche for this one. I'd have loved to finally get a Porsche 917 in a game. I played the hell out of Forza 3 with the 962 and 911 GT1.
As for the fender flare idea...
HELL YES!!!!! Fender Flare EEERRRRRR' THANG!!!
You can thank Electronic Arts for no Porsches. They have the exclusive rights to the Porsche license, and allowed Turn 10 to use it for Forza 2 and 3, but for some unknown reason (Forza is getting much bigger than Need-for-Speed?), they didn't allow Turn 10 to use it this time.
Depending on the car somewhere in S-class adding aero does start to increase the PI. Try adding aero to cars like the Saleen S7 or a Noble and watch just adding a wing throw you well into the next class. There have been times on lower classed cars where I do put a wing on just to get a few more ponies under the hood and then crank the downforce as low as I can when tuning.
My first attempt at paint work....This car belongs to a friend of mine, he races it up Pikes Peak in the vintage class. I'm getting it dialed in, not finding the wall quite so much and actually finished a few races online tonight (I usually DNF by a few seconds , but I'm getting closer). Had a really good race with somebody on the 'Ring. His car handled almost as bad as mine LOL!
Okay, I need some help. Picked up FM4 today, and if I hadn't spent so many pretty pennies buying it new, I'd be letting the dogs use it as a chew toy at the moment.
Where the berkeley is the "options" menu?!? When I load disc 1, the stupid thing immediately throws me into a race on a track I don't know with a bunch of stupid "exotics". Can't turn off the cheater line, can't turn off the Seldom Helpful Interference Technology, can't even turn off the %@#$(&%@#($&)@#$ music for that race!
I'm not saying that the game is a POS, I really wouldn't know, since the stupid thing won't even let me play it yet..but seriously--how long do I have to suffer through this moronic GaMeR BoYIE! bullE36 M3 before I can just go drive?
I'm pretty frustrated here, y'all. I even like Clarkson, but I'm a bit tired of sitting through his monologue eight times..
difficulty tab before starting the race. or just race and hit the play button to pause and it will pull up the same menu.
Eh, I spoke too soon. I load the disc, get Jezza's prologue (again), and then a "Welcome to Forza Motorsports 4" screen with a "description" of their fancy noo Alps course, followed by a basic diagram of the controller buttons that I change after discovering where the berkeley the god damned OPTIONS menu is. I'm missing where on Earth to set the difficulty settings before the stupid thing punts me into gAmEr LaNd...
In reply to friedgreencorrado:
If memory serves, I think it throws you into a race at Bernese Alps right off the bat. All sorts of assists are turned on (including auto-brake). After you complete that race, you 'll be able to view the menus such as "career", "community", Free play", etc.
In the Career menu is where you'll find the difficulty settings (you can also adjust the difficulty before each race, just not that first one at the Alps).
In reply to barrowcadbury:
So I have to suffer through the damn tutorial before I can continue? Gotta admit (considering the history of racing games on console systems) that actually makes some kind of sense, from the programmers' point of view.
Man, I was sure getting pretty angry at it, though. Lemme just go "take my medicine", and see if I can get the menus to respond.
Funny thing is..I actually use the tutorials on a FPS.
EDIT: Dude, thanks so much. I just did the thing, and now I'm sitting in my 2011 VW Fox with all audio/video/difficulty settings set to my satisfaction..time to go do some F class heroism, I suppose!
Thank you.

Yeah, it's a pet peeve of mine..drives me crazy when a machine (even when it's virtual) doesn't do WTF I tell it to.
Barrowcadbury was right, tho..once I just reconciled m'self to go run through that abortion of an "intro", everything was cool. Seriously digging the game, I think it's got a better tire model than 3.

Didn't Forza three do the same thing when you started?
It's been a while since I owned it, so I can't remember.
Okay....so how do I get the '65 Mustang? Is it one of those unicorns? or is there some secret squirrel society I have to join to get one. I tried to buy one in the auction house, "DLC content only" window popped up. Couldn't find it in any car packs or anywhere else I looked. I can't even drive the ones in the team GRM garage....but they do show up as actual cars....not those black blobs.

DLC content, you have to buy it. I think it was included with the early release games, so check your case for a card with a few redemption codes in it. If they're not there, you gotta buy the car pack.
In other news, I had fun racing with SwitchBlade on the ABC'S last night. Good times.
The mustang was part of a 5 car pack that I think only came with early releases of the game. If your game case doesnt have a card with the code for it you may be out of luck.
Seems like people are starting to come back/start FM4 now. We need to start testing out the 16 person private lobbies NOW. Especially since I just spun another crank bearing on my F Prod Miata this past weekend, and it might be a while before I get back on track with that.
Thanks Brotus7 and Failboat. Looks like I'm outta luck
