Hi everyone. I really like playing car Sims and driving/ vehicle games in general. I recently got into more serious games like Asetto Corsa, NASCAR Heat 5, and Beamng.Drive. Problem is i don't have a gaming computer. I only have a laptop. So as you can imagine its not very good. I was wondering If there are any cheaper Gaming desktops that I could get that have a NVIDIA RTX, 16 GB of ram, an Intel I5, and 500GB of space at Least. I just stumbled upon the Lenovo Legion I5 on Amazon. It looks very cheap comparing between the equivalent HP Gaming Desktops. Is the Lenovo legion I5any good?

No clue about the Lenovo. I have one of their business desktops and it works well.

I also have this:

Periphio Gaming Desktop Computer Tower PC, Intel Quad Core i5 3.1GHz, 8GB RAM, 128GB SSD + 1TB 7200 RPM HDD, Windows 10, GeForce GTX 1650 4GB Overclocked Edition Graphics Card RGB HDMI Wi-Fi (Renewed) https://a.co/d/7ELyYij

It has run all the games I have tried without issue. It's about $650.

For assetto corsa you really don't need a computer with much power.  It is an older game.  It would probably run on a toaster.  That being said you could probably search around and screw together a computer on your own.  If you were strategic in your shopping I bet you could get a PC that would do what you want for under 1K. The biggest cost will be the graphics card but gain for Assetto corsa a 2060 or a 2060 super is all you need (What I use and I run a 2k monitor plus two other 1080P monitors so 3 total) and it has no issues.

I put this together.  Far from top of the line but a good PC that would get you going.  If you built it you could save $200 and if you already have a copy of windows that would save another $200 bringing it under 1K plus tax.

This looks very helpful. sadly other games I play would need more than Asetto Corsa. The parts you mentioned are the same thats in the Lenovo Legion https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BRQQ3FVM/ref=twister_B0BJY5HVKW?_encoding=UTF8&th=1 and the Legion is cheaper.

This looks very good but is sadly not quite enough power in the RAM, GPU, and storage space.

I just bought this last night for my son. Price was $899 as they lowered the price in front of me.

Might be worth going to Costco and asking for a free day pass if you are not a member.

Wow I hope he likes it! It looks really good. I will have to think about that! It looks really good for the price and I7 32 GB of RAM and thats alot of space. That looks really good and will play most games really well. Its similar with the options too the Lenovo legion.yes

Funny thing I spent alot of time and money spending like $400 on a gaming keyboard mouse and headset. I probably shouldve just saved for the PC from the start but oh well.

Well, I'm still hoping so...  first one was DOA.  Replacement on the way.  At least replacement was pretty easy through Amazon.

Looks like I won't be joining this Wednesday...

I literally just built a gaming PC with my 12 year old yesterday.  We could have gone a little cheaper, but I think we got a good value with our parts.  It came in at about $1200 total.

OP's lousy Dad (that's me) can't afford much of a random gift thanks to paying off his trumpet and the household taxes, each near $3K net (Re taxes, that's obviously after withholding)

His Birthday is coming soon, but it's not a $1200 birthday.

He can't come to the forum right now, because he's busy teaching his first trumpet lesson. He's trying!

https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapcsales/ <----Here ya go. I always build my own. It's still cheaper and more satisfying than a store bought if you can do it yourself. That link is a bunch of redditors selling pc components for cheaper than you can find them elsewhere or pointing out current deals and sales. Just helping other redditors out.

The replacement for the DOA original has been excellent.  Honestly, about the only thing I use it for is AC racing, but I have zero complaints.  Definitely feel like it was a great value.

I'm sure it would be a few nickles more, but I'd try to find a version that an RTX video card.  That'll last a lot longer than the older GTX series for you.

Just found that my mother in law has a computer they haven't used in a while I can have, Envy 750-114, Intel Core i5-6400, 12GB, 2TB HD, Windows 10 Desktop PC. Seems like can upgrade power supply and add a graphics card to wake it up a bit. Also tempted to grab Rodan's rig as thats marked down further to $325 now.
