I'll try again at 450. Basically took a stock 22b and lowered the power, added suspension shortened the gears. Handled great, just a slug on the straights.

That seems to be the problem. At the current PP setting the other cars don't have any trouble putting power down, which negates the advantage of AWD and leaves them underpowered compared to other drive train layouts.

Once my shoulder is better I'll spend a little time and see if there's a small PP bump that can equalize straight line speed a bit.

Another option is to bump down the tires. That should help the 4WD.

Testing tonight with Mudd and air was fun. A semi tuner 04 civic series could be fun. We tested at 500 pp and a fixed minimum weight. Ran the default tunable setup and it was good fun. Both the race tires and the sport tires had advantages. I could see it as a series.

An AWD lambo series in stock form was also interesting. These cars actually rotate reasonably well and stand up to bumping and what not very well. I prefered the guardo to the aventidore but that is probibly because of my time in it I the ET series.

I never had time to test much before my life got complex. But I also had an idea for a Topless Touring Car series.

  • Cobra
  • Z8
  • Super Seven
  • Suzuki pillbox thing
  • xBow
  • Rocket

I think the PP was going to be high 500s. So very fast cars.

Just didn't want the idea to fade away so put it in here.

Air and I played with stock caterham 7s Wednesday night. The big issue with these cars is they seem to have a 100lb flywheel. They drive great, but if you get wheelspin, you will continue to have wheel spin for the next half mile. It's a huge problem if you spin or drop a tire. It'll take you so long to get back on track and up to speed that it will ruin a lot of races.

I still wish we could do the white Senna cars. Low power, but good aero and a hoot to drive. Can't paint them so it could get confusing pretty quickly.

The Topless Touring Car was to be full tuner so yeah lightweight flywheels are a must in the caterham.

By no means did I get any significant testing done to see if they would be comparable, I was going to start around 570-571 pp.

I like the Senna car series idea. They can't be painted but we can identify by helmet color.

I have a few thoughts for possible rules/series for the next season.

  1. Being back 2 longer races (instead of 4 shorter ones) but require one pit stop during the race. Even if we don't use fuel/tire wear, the pit stop would play into the strategy on a longer race. Kind of like the short V8 Supercar races where they put and only change one tire to meet the rules.

  2. Fuel and tire wear. Outright speed isn't the winner here, but good strategy and tire management often prevail.

  3. Winners choice for a SSS car. Use the previous series standings and let each driver pick a car for a race. Everyone enjoys or excels in certain cars, and this is your chance to capitalize on it. Or be a dick like me and pick a car that everyone else hates We've done this in the past and the variety through the season was great. You never got bored with what you were in.

  4. Team points. Similar to F1, 2 driver teams and keep up with points for a team/manufacturer title.

Like it. I also ran a quick test with the Miata TC. At Deep Forest it uses up right side RS tires in 9 laps of hard driving. Fuel goes 20 laps.

Here is my suggestion for a series: German Touring Cars

I did some testing and there are three cars available: Mercedes CLK, BMW M3 ('10,'11,and Base), and Audi A4 touring cars. Specs would be full tune except NOS, any tires. The MB and the Audi at 565pp. The BMW at 570pp.

With that tune they are very close. MB slightly slower but best fuel consumption. Audi in the middle. BMW slightly quicker but worst fuel usage. Slowest to fastest are within .4 at Red Bull Ring. Best economy is 31.6 miles per tank. Worst is 29.4 miles per tank. On RS tires they begin to drop off a bit at 3/4 tank and are at 3-4 at empty tank.

These tests are with stock suspension tune and stock gearing. Each one has more potential with tuning.

My format for the race night would be (1)Qualify, (2) Sprint race of 7-8 minute length, (3) Pit stop race of 60 to 75 mile length (15-20 minutes) with inverted grid from the first race. Double points for the endurance event.

Almost the same cars and format used in the real series.

I really want to bring back the drivers choice. We could do that and the stepped RUF series on Sundays and let air deal with the more complicated longer races.

On another note I was also thinking that three 5-6 min races is not a bad idea either. A sprint race series. Invert the grid for the 2nd and 3rd races. (yes I am making Air's spread sheet duties even more complicated LOL )

Not comparable. AWD and higher PP.

What about the newer version? It is RWD.

I have used the older AWD at less than the pp you noted in other series and besides what is wrong with AWD.

I have a couple of suggestions for Series 7.

  1. '00-'09 Euro street cars, full tuning at 505pp.
  2. With the 90s Japanese tuner series, everyone needs to run at least 3 different cars consecutively to mix up the chassis advantage/disadvantages each individual has.

I will check out at least one different class for later.

Ok Explain 505pp other than you have a car tuned perfectly that you are going to smoke us with.

If you whoop up on spool then it is ok.

I don't have the miles in this game to smoke you guys. That pp should allow the older good cars to run with the newer fast cars. Plus, it mixes it up to not just run at an even number 400 or 500pp all the time. Also, with how bad the fast RUFs are, I will throw out the stepped Corvettes. The C4s have to be better than those old RUFs .

Looks like might be a go. We had a pretty good test session with the 3400. Probably 3400, CTR2, RGT, BTR, Yellow Bird.

I propose a one off tire and fuel race with max tune GTRs. Testing tonight with the specV and I got between 6&7 laps on tires an was using 70-80 liters of fuel with the GTR spec V on race sorts. This was at GVE and at midfield. Lap times were about one minute. So a 10 lap race guarantees one stop s 15 lap race could mean two. I was thinking of mandating the tires to strictly make it the driver that determines fuel and tire ware.

I also was looking at the endurance race settings versus the qual / race settings. I like this as it means we have mug more control of the race length. The endurance settings is based on time only with a 15 min minimum where as with the race setup I could set a race up for any fixed distance. Either can use a pre set qualifying time length.

I like this as it will allow for shorter races that still have pit stops. With tge GTR you get about 7-8 min of racing befor tge tires go away.

Ohya. No aero on the gtr.

Anyway just something I have been thinking about.
