On behalf of 12 y.o. Kazoospec Junior, I hereby challenge the GRM gaming collective to compete with your choice of Evo against KazooJr and his faithful EVO V "Buster" (after the Mythbuster's crash dummy) in the seasonal EVO snow rally race. I should warn you, from personal experience, that KazooJr is the Kimi Raikkonen of smack talk. Fortunately for you all, he's more Danicka-like in his driving ability.
Feel free to humble the lad gentlemen. (His times will post under my screen name. I'm terrible at rally, so you needn't worry the times are mine)
I did the seasonal last night just for the cash, but I will revisit it tonight or tomorrow to set a good time.
Right now he's about a second and a half behind you and monkeyboy, but has "Buster" pretty well dialed in, so that may change.
I set another time today :D
Well, he worked on it a little more with "Buster III" (An Evo VIII RS) Right now he's slotted between EPCivic and Monkeyboy (lost out to Monkeyboy by .02 seconds).
The "Spool time" is still the time to beat by about 2 seconds. He's actually been slightly ahead of Spool on the big sweeper on the back side of the track, but is still working on the line through the hairpin section. He's losing full seconds in that section.
I've turned a few laps and I'm a good 3 to 4 seconds behind him.

I assume this is GT6?
Yep. Current crop of GT6 Seasonal Events. Its a snow rally open to Evo's of various vintages.
FWIW - prices have started to drop a little on GT6 if you don't have it yet. Local department store chain (Meijer) has them for $39.99 this week.
In reply to kazoospec:
He's doing pretty darn good! Tell him to keep up the good work! The best thing is to try to mimic the lines of the faster guys. There are a couple of spots where getting the line right makes for HUGE time gains (particularly the slow section).
EDIT: you can download the ghosts or replays from the fastest guys if that helps better than the lines.

...not really TBH. GT5 made me so mad I swore off the series. It'd take a might powerful bit of free DL goodies to get that game. I'm almost to a minigun in GTAV... that's way more of a carrot.

Agreed, little kazoo is pretty fast!
I got around to setting another time, currently .005 behind spool, but my laps are crazy inconsistent.
Edit- ok, new time posted. Your turn, spool
I need to add some power to my car. I think I was quite a ways below the PP limit. also need to add kazoo to my franz list.

You're like a thorn in my side
What EVO is everyone using? I'm in a IV with stock power, a little bit of weight reduction, and rally suspension.

VIII RS here. I like the steel wheels and wing delete.
Kazoo Jr. had the best luck with an EVO VIII RS, IRCC. Can't do much extra on power without busting the PP limit, but its crazy stable and the power doesn't help much. He wasn't even lifting on the sweeper in the back corner. 6th gear, on the rev limiter a good part of the way around the back half. 30/70 front rear power split, just a little stronger on the "power on" setting for the front diff than the rear. Roughly 30/20. On throttle, the LSD in front would pull the front end into the corner and then you just adjust the drift with the throttle. I'm pretty sure the car was never straight for more than 50 feet in the entire lap. I have to admit the replay was pretty fun to watch.
He was getting killed in the slow bits, though.
And the "stay ahead of the smack talking 12 year old" line is now at 1:19.5XX

I'm on it! not tonight, though, I have too much work for tomorrow and the next day.
In reply to Rufledt:
No worries, I don't know when I'll be able to go again anyways, because I'm sure you'll beat my time like it broke into your house.
I played my roommates GT6 on the rally events, makes me want a ps3. Or have someone build me a windows 2000 machine so I can play richard burns rally again.
