The 2 guys that I rallycross with and I built this:
Its a E36 M3ty VW Seat, A Logitec G920 wheel/pedals/shifter, and a 25" 21:9 monitor. Initially we had it setup with a Vive, but it was less than stellar. The monitor makes a huge difference. Dat FOV. Eye - screen distance is currently about 19". We can bring it closer, but I need to notch the surface where the monitor mount secures.

Well that's disappointing. :(
Once you go sim rig, theres no other way to play racing games.
That looks somewhat similar to my setup, but a little bigger overall.
Yeah. Its a gamechanger for sure. Still needs some improvements.
Needs a mouse/trackball, and a keyboard. Trying to think of a way I could use it for non-sim games & general computing as well, so I don't have to have duplicates of everything.
Oddly enough, in Project Cars I was about 2 seconds faster on a 1:25ish course with a Steam controller vs. the sim rig with manual clutch/shifter (not paddles)
