Hello Hive!,

I just got offered a pretty good deal on a 2003 ZR7S with 15k, 1000 bucks. (with all the personal riding gear) From what I understand this is a bit of a "Toyota Corolla" of standard bikes: it is old technology, simple, comfortable and if anything a bit "soft."

Great News! It will be my first road bike.

About me: I have ridden a lot of dirt bikes and a few road bikes, but nothing serious on the road.

I am 5,10", 31" inseam, 180#, MN/WI summer riding (I would plan on one 1000 mile trip a year and two weekend rides a month) I would rather eat up miles and have a little fun and see the sights on two wheels rather than go fast on public streets

Just looking for a little input on the bike itself and if it fits my tastes.

Is this the bike for me?

Thanks!

Searching the 'net tells me that they can pull mgp's up to 60 which I find quite nice, they have good range from a decent sized gas tank, they're not amazing handlers although not hard to improve, and they're a bit buzzy like a lot of non-counterbalanced inline-four's tend to be. And a standard centerstand, which is cool, especially for touring.

Throw on some farkles and it should do just what you want. Side and top case mounts are out there, as are "touring" windscreens, et cetera.
