Hello! I've found myself a motorcycle and am currently in the process of reviving it. I noticed oil dripping out of the left stator cover and took it off. Sure enough, the previous owner broke through it with the gear shifter. I've searched for this cover via Ebay and have found expensive results (~$100).

Is there a place I could find parts cheaper? Or is this price actually fair? Any insight on where to search for replacement parts? As this is not the only thing wrong with her.

Thanks for all the help :]

She's a 1973

For a '73, that doesn't sound too far off the mark for a really nice cover NOS cover. The bikes are fairly collectable after all.

What I would do however is figure out the part number for the cover and google the part number. I've had some success find cheaper NOS parts that way.

FYI, when restoring those, I scuff the cover with medium to fine sandpaper, tape off a box around the lettering and spray it black. Then go back and sand the paint off the raised letters with the same paper when the paint is dry. They look as good as new.

Clem, that's a beautiful bike. I hope mine looks that nice one day. Do you have any idea where to find that cover that's right below the seat?
