It was 19*F, the roads were dry, the sun was shining, so I went out for coffee this morning on the Goldwing. Other than my knees getting cold, it was a great, brisk ride. I heart full fairings! I got quite a few strange looks and some thumbs up. After about thirty miles though, I had enough for today. Next ride, I'll get Mrs. Mini to take pics. Funny though, she doesn't want to ride with me.
Lucky! it was 7deg this am....burr.....
I walked the dogs this AM ad it was about 12. Never even considered the motorcycle to get to work.

The wife is wise...........
At 19*, wise > brave.
Ha it is 47 degrees here.
I ride back and forth to work on my new to me motorcycle everyday.
Even in ATL, its been 20 to 30 degrees, and its been pretty damn chilly.
We're having a warm front here in Charlotte. It's 42 right now.
A nice change to the single digits we've seen all week.
Suck on that Mr. Gore.
I generally ride around once or twice a week this time of year, which turns into everyday if my wife is out of town. 36 mile commute one way and is generally in the 20s/low 30s.....sometimes in the teens.

I always made a point of riding on New Year's morning, unless it was snowing heavily. It always felt good.
At 25*, bike tires don't have a lot of grip. Ask me how I know.
At least you don't have to put ice on your broken foot...

Yes! Gotta do the ton on the first of the year.
Thanks for reminding me. That might just be the kick in the ass I need to get one of my bikes running again.
I rode to work the other day at thirty degrees, and that was a bit chillier than I would have liked. Perhaps it's the lack of fairing that did me in.

I do that, too. Can't ride year-round if you don't start in January.
We just had 2-3" of snow fall today, but when the roads are clear and dry, I'll get out for a ride.
I've definitely noticed I have to give myself a lot more stopping room. My rear tire is a semi-slick that will lock right up under 45 degrees and a touch of brake
My tires still seem to be working fine, though they are full treads, and its closer to a bike tire than a motorcycle tire.
Anyone make a "performance" tubed tire for an 18X2.5?

Rode out to the eastern shore yesterday, did about 300 miles. Warmest it got was 34 degrees, lowest I can verify was 16. Thank god for heated gear. Its time to start looking for a damn car though...
The low for today was 13*. I rode scooted to work, and my pants froze to the seat. I also forgot my goggles and got snowflakes in my eyes...that is a pain that will never be forgotten.

That pain will help you remember those goggles tomorrow morning - when the forecast is for even lower temps.
I'd tip my hat to you, except it's too friggin cold to take it off.

Preparing for my ride home right now. Yeah!
It got up to 27°F here today, so I washed the car.
The truck can rot in the salt for all I care. That's what it's for.
