Although I do/did love my mongoose rockadile & GT avalanche, this one is no comparison, 2010 superlight r-xc...

Not having too much experience with them, I always assumed xc style FS bikes just took the harsh edge off impacts, but this thing is the equivalent of a prerunner truck in terms of bump absorption!
Sweet! Just curious, what's it weight?

Nice choice there! A modern "classic" (as far as bikes go).

I'd guess around 27lbs, I've never ridden an Al frame this lively though.
Only thing I'm changing is tossing the dirt bike width handlebars & getting something that's a little more apt to fit between trees.
in XC geometry full suspension is just there to make it more comfortable. As the geometry gets more gravity oriented the suspension becomes far more active in the enjoyment of the terrain.
Ride a downhill bike on a downhill course and you'll see what i mean.

I can imagine! I've seen a few DH clips that just defy physics...
Went for the maiden voyage this morning on the SL, bike is worth every cent, I just have to build up the cardio to do it justice.
NICE bike! I just picked up my first dual suspension bike a few weeks back after riding hardtails for a year. It's a Cannondale Prophet ($300 - needed a new helicoil in the lefty
), and I'm AMAZED at how much more comfortable the bike is...not to mention how much better grip I have on rough climbs! I know it's heavier than my old Kona, but I ain't going back!
