It's really rough (you can see for yourself here: http://s123.photobucket.com/albums/o313/clemsparks/1974%20Honda%20CL360/?action=postuploadshare)

I don't have any imediate plans for it but eventually a sleeker seat, some lower bars, and a bit of minimalism would fit the bill quite right, I think.

Nice. I keep coming back to 360s as a great bargain vintage bike that's still pretty ridable on modern roads, highways excepted. A CL is on my list. I've done the cafe thing with one, though, so I want to go the other way and Scrambler-ize it.

I love the 360t's, with the 6 speed and disk front brakes.

The 6 speed is nice (it's kinda like the Miata 6 speed: tighter ratios, but not an appreciably higher final gearing), but the discs, like most early disc brake systems, weren't a whole lot better than late drums. Less gyroscopic mass, yes, but also a new hydraulic system to deal with instead of just a cable. And said hydraulic system is certainly in need of rebuild by now.

For the most part: six of one, half dozen of the other.

If I were buying one, I'd go after Clem's model, personally.

Those seats look a bit sleeker and are A LOT more comfortable once you remove the strap.

Speaking of seats...can I make something sleeker out of the stock pan? The cover and foam are shot as you can see here.

I'll also need to get creative with the exhaust since I won't be spending big bucks on a CL specific piece. My heat shields are gone and the system is a mess (the chrome pipes are still there, though...).

Thanks for the comments, folks!

If I remember right, MAC makes a sweet 2-into-1 pipe for the 360 twins.

If the stock seat pan is in good shape, don't mess with it. Honda pans are notoriously weak and hard to come by in good condition. People tended to try to lift the bikes from the rear of the seat, with disappointing results. Find a cheap damaged one to modify.

Back in the day i had a 175 twin and a 360 twin we used to beat the powerlines with. Both were very good in the dirt. The 360 lost a fuel line and burt to a crisp with me on it... I dorve in to the swamp / pond the bike fell over before the water and smoldered untill the neibor wasted a fire extingusher on it...
