Excellent bikes. I had a blue 05 k1200s and loved it. Now ride a 12 k1300s.
I really love this bike
If it's anything like my K-100rs you'll love it - - and regret ever selling it. 
That is a sharp looking set of wheels!!
My 650 is fast enough for me, I can't imagine what almost twice the displacement is like!
I broke my bike yesterday. :(
There is a massive hesitation/flat spot ~3400-3800 RPM, even with the latest maps/firmware from BMW. So I bought a Power Commander V for it and was installing yesterday. The feed nipple for the fuel rail broke. I noticed a bunch of them for sale on ebay are broken at the same spot.
I did buy a used fuel rail (plus injectors and feed hose) for $38, but that means I'll have to commute in the car for a few days next week.
Sadness.

Although mine is not going to be an easy or cheap fix.
I had a PC V with auto tune on my k1200s. Definitely made a difference. I also had low restriction filters and a slip on.
It was ~32F in Austin this morning...
Heated gear is amazing.
Miles are racking up.
