For a year or two in Arlington I always enjoyed waiting on these old roustabouts. War was hell for them and they touched my jaded heart. And I've always liked the thunder part as they've gone through downtown even if it's not my bag personally. That being said I've never gotten fully into it because I don't need to being so close. Maybe this year I'll take some time off. 
Thanks for posting this. I'll be there for sure. Maybe even put the straight pipes I have for the Goldwing, to add to the "Thunder".
I rode to DC for Rolling Thunder several times. Was in the parade, and also went just to hang out. My riding buddy and I kinda drifted apart, but he emailed me and we are thinking about going for the last one.
