I have stumbled upon an 87 Yamaha SRX250. I have not yet seen it in person, but the pictures look promising enough for me to make the hour+ drive to see it up close. It has 8,000 miles and appears to be well-cared for. Carb has been cleaned and adjusted and it has new tires. From what I have read, the SRX 250 had some head cracking issues, but that most bikes have had this problem corrected.
It seems like a nice bike which has styling like a transisition between a cafe' racer and a street fighter. Does anyone on the board have experience with this bike?
In reply to Moparman:
I agree, those are great looking bikes.
No, but rarer than hen's teeth. My SRX600 was sweet. Reasonable price=go for it!
In reply to wheelsmithy:
I know, only available in the U.S. for one year. No rust, 8,000 miles, serviced and everything works. $750
sounds sweet, will a 250 thumper be enough? (Devil's Advocate over here)
Sold before I could get there. :(
I once had a chance once to buy a one owner srx-6 with 12k miles for $1,200. The bike was perfect. I didn't have a permanent job at the time and passed on it. Stupid.
I once saw an srx250 in a dealer showroom. That's the only one I've ver seen in the flesh.
