Tank spikes? Yeah, not good. Street fighters are often times the rat rods of the moto world.

That's the thing, these things aren't worth squat, and recently, ninja 250 prices heve skyrocketed. Did I mention the nearly bolt-on R1 rear shock?

The rolling chassis is in the shop, and I spent the other night drinking beer, and staring it, and the single down. Other projects take the front seat for now, but what a beautiful start.

My 1975 Suzuki 2stroke 400 scared my buddy, (who rides harleys, who didn't think a ring dinger had any power), as it pulled a wheelie so fast it threw him on his back!

Two strokes will do that. Nutty to know they made em' in 750s.

If that was a TM400 (the motocrosser) they were famous for that. The first two years' production had a primitive CDI ignition and the ignition advance hadn't been worked out just yet. This meant the advance could come in at all kinds of random times. Example: you come to a turn, lay it over, grab a handful and the advance came in at around 4000 RPM. Bike accelerates fine, all is well. Next lap, same turn, you lay it over and grab a handful, this time the advance came in at 2500. Immediately you were laying on your ass wondering just what happened. I rode a '74 that did all of that and it was downright terrifying, completely unpredictable.

Its piped. And it freaks the Harley guys. He he. Anyone see the kits to turn 450 dirt bikes into quasi-GP racers? Quite cool.

Typically 500cc or greater.

If when kickstarting it and it can throw you over the handlebars, it is a thumper.

Whoever chopped that blast is an idiot and did a lousy job. Where is the airfilter? Nice how they chopped the rear seat frame also. A real garage queen if I ever saw one.

Here is a link to some flat trackers who run blastardos. I've never seen a dual sport blast probably because the suspension is too low and there are only a couple of tire choices.

The blast is the only honest thumper left.

But there aren't many RZ's left...and you could probably sell the RZ to someone who wants one, buy a tired 250 Ninja, and come out money ahead.

As a two stroke lover, let this one be or bring it back into shape with the right engine.

Two strokes and thumpers both rule. I'll extend the same offer I extended the other guy. I will trade for a Ninja 250 frame. I've been recieving critisizm, but not a way to get a chassis for this thumper that will equal what I've got.:)

BTW, its a tank, rolling chassis, and little else. Can't seem to work out a pic.

Only thumper left? Puh-leeze!

I was mainly riding a DRZ400 SM 'til it left to make room for a KTM 690 SMC.

Single cylinder 654cc, fuel injected, 8.5k revving, 297 pound, 60+hp shot of adrenalin in the nads.

Comes w/ track day tires out of the crate, and a 320mm Brembo Radial on the front.

Craziest (4 stroke) thumper I've ever owned. And you can walk into a KTM dealer and buy one tomorrow (but buy used and save $3k)

Here's my Ascot. Has a bit of "hanger rash" from sitting around. Brakes are sticky. Runs decent but has weak starter or battery (or both). $375 and it's your's. I'm in NJ.
