Well the punky buellster is coming around, by my calculations I have all the seals to put this damn bike back together. I bought some harley davidson high performance RTV but want to know which sealant is the best for sealing the crank case as I don't want to have to do this job again. You wouldn't believe the sheer number of seals, I'm talking seals on top of seals and behind seals.

Thanks folks and appreciate any help. I can't wait to wail on the punky again, I love this one lunger. Another 30k miles are in order after getting this damn thing together.

I've had good luck with permatex Right Stuff on cases. But it's only been 3 months so far.

Yamabond works well.

Yamabond or Hondabond2 user here but i've been told that its the same gray stuff in both tubes and same as permatex gray sealant but who knows...

Yamabond is what most people used back in the day. Probably still today.

We use 3Bond in a submersion situation for the IHTs at work (hydrostatic transmissions, the seal is wet, unit gets above 60C)

Permatex was used but it is more expensive but we saw better results.
