So I have a set of AeroCatches on my rally car and I've always wondering if I should worry about them in case of a fire. Will they melt and stop me from opening my hood? Will they melt and allow me to pop my hood? If it gets to that point do I even worry about popping the hood?
a pic of the car, not that it matters, I just like posting it because I'm proud of it.
I'm guessing that if the fire is bad enough to melt the aerocatches, it's too late for the rest of the car anyhow.
Typically in an underhood fire, you don't want to open the hood as it provides a huge amount of air to the fire.
If its really small, then it shouldn't be a problem.

Can confirm. Fight from under and side. If the catches melt, they won't hold the hood closed anyways.
