I recently got a quatuor of round LS truck coils from the junkyard to use on a Megasquirt setup. The brackets were rusty so I removed the coils from the bracket to clean the coils and paint the brackets. To do this I obviously had to bend back the two little tabs that hold the coils. By doing this, the little metal tab that seems glued to the heatsink kinda popped off, but not totally.
Now that I cleaned everything, how should I reattach that tab? I know I have to crimp it on the metal bracket, but should I solder it to the heatsink maybe? What is the use of that tab?
