Awful Waffle for dinner, and bed shortly. We are stopped for the night.

In Louisville? Odd. If any assistance is needed or just breakfast/camaraderie (five oh two)381-double seven 82
Damn, I forgot to look at this thread today. I'm in Indy hanging out with Swank Force One and missed the chance to see this thing! It's great seeing you guys make good progress on the trip.
They toughed it out, I believe. It was 30 where they started from and now it's 60 in Louisville.

In reply to wvumtnbkr:
Warm clothes and the heat radiating off the firewall. It hasn't been too bad, and getting warmer as we head south.
I spent 14 hours working on my E60 today. Got home at 1AM, totally whipped. Remembered that I hadn't checked this thread today, and have been reading and laughing for the last 30 minutes. The ToyFamily kicks ass!
Wonder if the guy who sold them the bus is following along?
What are the longer term plans for this bus?
In reply to NOHOME:
Long term is restoration and use as an RV.
At 55 mph, I've had plenty of time to think on that. DT466 and 5 speed come to mind for power. There is going to be some rust repair, a complete rewire and re plumb. The vintage look is going to stay with modern underpinnings. It'll look like a 50s RV, and run like a modern one.
We should be back on the road in a few.

Bob is back on (that is the spots name)!
Awffle House about 11pm.
Hotel about midnight.
On the road about 730 am.
Not a lot of time for "smelling the roses" on this trip.
More like moved in under the cloak of darkness and departed at first light.
I imagine that given your new found celebrity status you have to be mindfull of avoiding the paparazzi.
Will you be stopping in Lexington? Need anything? I like to see the bus and meet the celebrity driver

I would guess that every additional mile brings the threat of an unplanned stop!

Follow their progress and get out on the interstate for a fly-by. Follow along as wing man for a few miles. Get pictures.
In reply to KyAllroad:
Passing through Lexington now.
Hooked the 2 speed axle back up so we can climb the divide. We think it will climb it that way, it will be slow though. Might be able to do 40 mph.
Currently stationary at Fazoli's at Rt 68 and 64.
Definitely do the wing man thing for a bit if you're able, we need some video footage of this thing on the road!
Headed down 75 you have a bit before you reach the big hill. Jelico Mountain is just a couple miles short of the KY/TN border. I've chugged up it at 35 in a 1/2 ton chevy pulling a gooseneck horse trailer. Trucks are often slower than that.
Its got a bus motor of unknown size, its got bus tires, bus shocks (not sure the work), bus suspension. Its the model before catalytic converters so it will run good on regular gas. What do ya say the new Toyman toy hauler or what?
