Sometime over the winter big booty Judy the 2002 209k mile rusty suburban spit her spare tire out her hind end. Probably in a snow storm. The cable rusted and broke. Upon discovering this, I told my wife who informed me it was now time to open my dusty wallet and get a newer truck as and I quote "the kids aren't riding in that rusty death trap anymore". So first person who put $2500 in my hand got it. I bought it for $3000 nearly 4 years ago and put 10k miles a year. Spent $700-$1k per year on maint on it.. mostly normal stuff like brakes.
enter a 2019 f150 xlt with the sport package. So it has the nicer interior with center console and black seats instead of the regular grey interior. $35k out the door less than 42k miles. 2.7 eco boost and 10 speed.
Added husky mats, f150 mud flaps(for snow in winter), rhino liner, bed cover and husky wheel well liners
I see 27.7 mpg max on light long trips and 19mpg with my giant bike rack. Next thing to do is get it back to the dealer to get hem to check the A/C before the warranty runs out. It's no where near as cold as my old GM's was.
