I've got a '98 Suburban with pretty thrashed seats so looking for cheap options to improve comfort. A buddy is parting out a GMT 800 Suburban with a decent interior - how much work would it be to swap the seats over? Only really bothered about the fronts but would probably swap the others too if it was easy.

I've looked at this on a forum but didn't do it myself. I think the bolts line up on one side so you only have to drill the floor on the other side.

Don't assume that the seating between the two series has much in common, it may or may not depending on which seating company built it. There may be more similarities between two different truck brands. Each seating company sold their own designs to the OEMs.

Both GMT400 and GMT800 seats are popular and easy upgrades for the older C10's, so it can't be that hard to make work.

The GMT800's are a thicker seat back, which may cut into leg room.

I may have some fitment notes on my work laptop that might help. I'll check and let you know...
