+1 for the Forceum MT 08 in 13". I get a slight rub on the front right going over bumps with stock suspension, but generally a good fit.

Has anyone calculated their real world mpg on these? I wonder if one would make sense for my 3 mile drive to work.

I have not calculated mileage yet. I don't drive it a ton. I've heard other people comment numbers 30-50mpg. I think a lot depends on the vehicles condition maintenance wise and speed driven. You said 3 mile commute so likely you'd be getting on the higher side of that.

Did you upgrade your springs? That is first on my list.

Not upgraded yet, but I plan to after ...other project cars. For now, having some weight in the back to balance it is enough to keep it from rubbing in the front.

I'm not going to lift mine, but a stiffer spring in front will hopefully help. 

Makes a good mobile work bench.

Do you mind sharing the type of wheel this is?  I'm trying to find some Civic VX wheels but having no luck and I like the look of these. 

Just sniped these on Facebook from someone that didn't follow through on buying them. 12" wheels with some older snows. 
 

I like that the truck is a little better running than the 13" Forceum. Since I only have a 4 speed since mine is an Attack. A normal 5 speed RWD or AWD would run the Forceum better. 
 

It's got me really thinking about what to do with my truck. I might sell both sets of wheels and just run stock steelies. Or the Forceum might go back on for a couple months of the winter fun. 
 

I have a "dream" for it but with my Boxster and Touareg truck projects ahead I don't know if I want to start another right now.

I like the truck for the utility. A lot of the engine swaps either cut holes in the bed or eliminate it completely and make it rear wheel drive only. 
 

What I'm thinking of is finding a basic Honda 4 cylinder and lifting or spacing the suspension in a way it can fit without cutting / poking through the bed. Kinda narrowed down to a K24a1 which was in  2002-2009 CR-V. Non-VTEC and about 150hp. With everything sitting higher I could go a good deal bigger on tires which would also increase top speed. And hoping it would just stay reliable enough with mostly stock rest of the drivetrain. 

Can you use a Previa engine? they are mounted sideways if I remember right.

Previa is longitudinal, ACTY is transverse. Plus I'd want to use a Honda engine to keep it in the family.

In just a few months, the 2000 model year variants will start to become eligible for import. 
I'm still debating one of these. I was convinced I had to have a 4WD model, but for the uses I have planned (around the yard and around town) a 2WD model is probably fine. A 2WD model will make it easier to do an engine swap, too. It's likely I'll choose between the Acty and the Sambar.

With Honda they had a split year and some of the 1999 were the new style HA6 (2wd), HA7 (awd) so there are already ones here. I've watched a couple videos and they seem to be a night and day difference to the earlier versions.

I thought about buying a hay bale to recreate this 

A little googling and a round bale that size should be about 650-800 pounds and cost between $100-150. The Honda's rating is 350kg (770 freedom units). 

I forgot, it's been done already for a TFL video. 
 

So I've been running the 12" wheels for a few weeks. The difference in size and weight definitely is nice allowing the truck to accelerate and hold some hills a little faster. Also the traction seems to be fine for dirt that I've encountered thus far. In the one acre I live on there is a little bit of woods on a downhill that I've slowly worn in as a mountain bike track as a kid and now ATV, Jeep, Kei, Motorcycle. That's kinda my test track. 
 

I do like the look of the 13" Forceum and Civic VX wheels a little better. 
 

Been cleaning up some downed trees lately so it's been hauling wood a bunch.

So there was a undeveloped lot down my street. 13 acres for $325k. Haven't won the lottery yet so I couldn't buy it. But it did just sell in December and then last week a local tree company was cutting some trees close to the road. Since it was a local company I figured it could be the new owners so I left it. I asked the person that lives next door to the lot and they said it wasn't the new owners but the town. Ok. I'm going to go grab some then. They snoozed, they lost... There is still some there, but my chain was getting a little dull and I had a full bed already. 
 

The Kei truck is perfect for this stuff. One it's road legal. Not that it's a big deal in my small town to use an ATV or UTV. But with an ATV I'd need to tow a trailer. Same for the UTV because even the ones with beds are pretty small. I was able to pull completely off the road, even a small pickup like a Ranger I'd be a couple feet into the road. 

Stuck, then unstuck. I was going slow uphill spun some, then trying to go again slid sideways into the tree. Could rock it but had trees around me and kept sliding into the side. It got caught up on the bedside mount.
