What better place to hold a Concours d’Elegance than in the Motor City itself?
The 2023 Detroit Concours wrapped up this past weekend at the Detroit Institute of Arts, with the very swoopy 1939 Delahaye 135 MS Figoni et Falaschi Cabriolet of Ted and Mary Stahl taking the top honors of Best of Show, beating out a 1928 Auburn 8-115 Speedster and a 1963 Ferrari 250 GT California Spyder.
One of only five examples to be adorned with Figoni et Falaschi coachwork, the concours-winning Delahaye was unique in its day for its Cotal pre-selector four-speed gearbox–a sort of predecessor to the modern sequential transmission.
