Liveries like Gulf Racing’s orange on blue and Martini’s stripes have been the subject of inspiration and copy cats for decades. It’s not often you have the chance to own one of the original takes on an iconic look. Well on March 12, one of the original Sunoco Camaros prepared for Trans Am competition will be crossing RM Sotheby’s auction block during their Amelia Island sale. And this isn’t the back-up car. This is the car that was raced in 1968 by Mark Donohue and Sam Posey.
Of course, this kind of historical significance doesn’t come cheap. Estimates for this car’s final selling price run into seven digits.
