Friends of mine from Concord, MA (they were showing a car as well) saw the car and thought it was spectacular, especially given its modest origins.
Is there a video of it running and driving?
Tim McNair shows off his work on the field at the Amelia Island Concours.
We were thrilled to have our Tornado Typhoon roll onto the field at Amelia Island Saturday March 14, 2015. Win or lose, it is always an honor and true bucket list experience to be part of one of the nation’s biggest and perhaps most prestigious events. The experience might have given us goose bumps if we hadn’t been so tired.
We had worked for nearly nine months to recreate a car from virtually nothing. With little parts supply, no experience with the marque, and nothing more than pure passion, cubic man hours and small budget, we had one of the cheapest and best looking cars on the field. We feel certain that few—if any—other cars surrounding us cost their owners well under $25,000.
Still, it wasn’t really about the money or the total time spent. It was about doing what we said we would do in an incredibly short time period, and having it come out looking so fantastic.
We want to publicly thank, Dean Kirsten, The Tornado Register, Kip Lankenau, Jere Dotten, Tom Prescott and so many other people and companies for making this happen. We couldn’t have imagined how cool a Tornado could look when done right .
